Here is another inconvenient stat:

“Someone calculated that the taxes he [Obama] would raise in his Buffett Rule would pay for 11 hours of government.”

simple and fairest remedy

let the Bush tax cuts expire and everyone's taxes cut up by ~ 2-3%

surely rich people would have no problem with that because it's not just them carrying the burden

It's insane that Repubs (and Dems) let Bush lower taxes while starting 2 new wars and increasing the goverment payroll

Can we go back to the level of spending when the Bush tax cuts were enacted as a % of GDP too?

I'd be happy with that

as you know Bush grew the Federal government payroll and Obama has reduced it

either that or we double down on the tax cuts and we'll get to that magical inflection point where lower rates result in greater tax revenue

Double dip recession coming your way!

Agree on that point. Had they simply slowed government spending, Bush would have left office with a balanced budget. Which reveals the true culprit of the deficit: overspending, not undertaxation.

when Clinton left office there was a plan in place and working that would have paid off all the debt by the end of 2010

his best point is not if there are enough rich to tax but when he mentions cutting spending at the very end of the freaking video.  That's the big problem.  I really don't give a rats ass if the megawealthy have to pay a little more than others and I wouldn't give a shit if I was megarich either.  Our fucking spending is out of control.  Solve that problem, I doubt the tax issue is much of a concern to anyone.  How much have we watched government grow since 9/11?  a fucking lot.  that's the problem.  There wouldn't be a call to tax the rich more if you fixed that shit.

Anybody here actually think the size of government is going to decrease under Romney?

BWHAHAHahahahaha...

Still fucking pissed not enough people would support Ron Paul.  You don't get another chance now.  Those who didn't support him will watch the same retarded show go on, even under Romney.

Thank all the morons like BB out there for it....

dude, its not about taxing the rich hoping that those taxes will cover our deficits, its about taxing the rich fairly and getting them to pay their fair share..no more no less..the thing I find so funny is that the rich have done such a great job of brainwashing the American public into thinking that taxing the rich fairly is wrong.....

they turn the argument into a "redistribution of wealth" argument...saying that their hard-earned tax dollars are going toward welfare...in reality, if they don't pay it, the middle class will......it IS a massive redistribution of wealth.....they have shunked their tax burden onto the middle and working class....we are paying our taxes AND theirs as well.....we pay in terms of the higher interest rates that come from borrowing the extra money that they don't pay

good job by them pulling the wool over the eyes of the conservatives and Republicans

It's true, he wants to take our government back to a time when it stayed in line with The Constitution... Oh the horror of it all..., no say it isn't so lol....

What was I thinking, of course we're on the right path now.  Just look at the bullshit happening.  Who the hell am I to think someone like Ron Paul might come along and remind us all of the course set by our founding fathers and why it was set. Yes, you're right, he's a nutjob to think that our government needs to stay constitutional ::)

Did you just give me the choice of "He will" Vs. "Says he won't but will" and then tell me that should solidify my vote for the rest of my life? LO-FUCKING-L!!!

oh yea ok tony.... whatever....

Do you really believe any of this shit at this point?  Honestly?  Nader can be a nut but the one thing he turns out to be spot on with is that when you look past the talk of republicans and dems, there isn't much difference between them.  You'll vote in your republican and he'll do all the shit you didn't want him to do and then we'll get a dem and all hell will break loose in rage when in fact he was actually for the most part doing the same shit with a different twist.  And then we go through the same fucking cycle again and again and when enough years pass, we'll say how great President X is even though the shithead just sat there taking orders from others who were the same people that influenced the president before and after him...

The shit is a bit more complicated... It's not to late to do something about it but the day is coming where it will be.  Don't vote for either of these assholes.

Read andres posts in other threads and you'll completely understand his political outlook.  He's more or less admitted that he supports a government that runs peoples life for them.

Simple Obama 2nd term - 100% chance of disaster.

Romney - 50% - 85% Chance of Disaster.

Very easy to figure out what to do.
