What is the era of 'Modern' that you are thinking of.

Explain 'Modern Fitness' - is it different than modern bodybuilding, modern figure, zumba, mainstream celebrity gurus, etc?

Gets my vote.  Not enough to say he brought fitness culture to the general public.  More like he created it.  Mr & Mrs Suburbia never would have heard of a gym otherwise.

Got to agree jack la lanne was a real pioneer and with steve Reeves and reg park really brought muscles onto TV and to the cinema. Sure later came arnold and they all praised weider but for me Jack la lanne was really fit and motivated normal people to do a workout at home. His TV series is funny by Todays standards but turn the clock back..it was really new then.

Jane Fonda introduced aerobics to millions of dumpy housewives and college girls.  At my girlfriend's school (Miami of Ohio)  you had literally tons of girls massing in common areas of their dorms to workout with her RECORD and printed manual.  Can yu imagine working out to a vinyl LP?  "What the fuck did she say?"  or if the needle stuck you'd be doing elbow to knee for a year

John Falcon meets all of these criteria and is also a great philosopher and spokesperson for the sport.

Lalanne had a lot more to do with fitness than Arnold.

Maybe Arnold is the poster boy for Dianabol, not fitness.
