Falling gasoline prices are PROOF of Obama's economic policy working just the way I thought it would: unemployment is higher, underemployment is higher, less people have money, and thus less people buying gasoline translates into lower demand and lower prices.

Technically Howard is right. Gigantorx went over this - lower demand, lower cost.
The economy is turning down again and prices are going down because of it. Notice how the high prices were in the "recovery", and now that shit is looking bleak again, prices are dropping?
Obama may not technically have been responsible for high gas prices, but none of his policies did anything to help IMHO.

Also read something about them shutting down production to switch over to their summer blend a few months back, im sure that contributed to the high prices until they were back to normal production.

Credit for what, exactly? We have been over this. The economy is still stuck in shit and sinking again, thus we have lower oil demand. Prices will spike again when more "Stimulus" is rumored, or QE or Iran or whatever will further devalue the dollar. The fact that the stimulus and QE's etc were total failures and failed to help anyone but major banks, corporations and the top elite doesn't bode well for the upper-middle class and down when these schemes are introduced again. The elites will reap all the benefits while everyone else gets fucked and has to deal with 5 dollar gas. Wonderful.

To give Obama credit for falling gas prices would be to say that his economic/fiscal policies have been such a failure that the economy is still in awful shape and getting worse so there is less demand for oil.

my point about giving Obama credit for gas prices falling was sarcastic....simply mirroring everyone's take that Obama just had to be the reason for higher gas prices.....so by the twisted thinking on this board, I simply used the same theory....that since gas prices are falling it just must be because of Obama's policies....notice all the twisting and tortured logic in here to try NOT to give Obama credit...now ALL OF A SUDDEN in this thread, since gas prices are falling, we get the arguments that I have been saying for years...THAT THE PRESIDENT AND HIS POLICIES HOLD NO SWAY OVER GAS PRICES.....

The bubble economy was staying barely afloat thanks to massive Fed pump priming.

Please point me to a specific policy pushed by Obama or the Democrats that has helped increase the supply of gasoline.

Because if you can, then you might have a point. But all Obama has done is restrict the supply of energy, oil, and gasoline. So if supply is restricted, then the only possibility for prices to go down is reduced demand.

This is basic economics here. It shouldn't be causing even a retard such as yourself this much grief.

haha, I can remember when Bush was being blamed for gas prices being high because he was a "Texas oil man" yet when Odrama got into office the prices continued to rise.  And gas prices ALWAYS dip down in an election year.....look it up turds.

Okay:
- Prices were at highs because supply was restricted and demand was slowly growing.
- Prices are falling now because demand is (probably) falling thanks to the economy weakening again. I wouldn't be surprised if we were on the front-end of a recession right now.

The only other possibility is an increase in supply causing falling prices, but that could only be the case in spite of Obama's policies, not because of them.

How is it you're too damn blind to see you do the same thing in reverse?

When anything good happens, you're on here trumpeting with Obama's cock in your mouth creating posts about Obama kicking 33's ass.

Anything bad and it's ALWAYS somebody or something else's fault...or you just dissappear.

Gas prices can skyrocket next week......the only time gas prices will actually matter is the week leading up the election itself.......nothing more.  President have little overall influence on gas prices.  If there is a hiccup in the Middle East, prices will go up, even if supply is uninterrupted......the price goes up due to an anticipation of a foreseeable supply shortage.

According to the GOP, Obama is an emperor with absolute power that affects all things in everyone's daily lives.  ::)
