100 Million Dollar Man: Romney Sets Fundraising Record
 ABC News ^

Posted on Thursday, July 05, 2012

Mitt Romney reportedly raised more than $100 million in June, the best fundraising month of his campaign so far.

Politico's Mike Allen first reported the total, which includes contributions to both Romney's campaign and the Romney Victory Fund—a joint account between the Romney campaign and the Republican National Committee. A Romney spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

That's two record-breaking months in a row for the Romney team. In May, the presumptive Republican nominee raised nearly $77 million—almost $17 million more than President Barack Obama's re-election campaign. The Obama campaign has not yet announced its June totals.

Nice.  That is exactly the kind of coin he has to raise to win this thing.

Obama's free pass from the press and from the MSM is worth tens of millions of dollars alone.   "New Party" anyone?

$100 million.   Damn.

Obama still has Romney beat in funds due to the head start he has however Romney needs to start being straightforward and to the point...all of this flip flopping he doing is killing any chance he has at winning

http://elections.nytimes.com/2012/campaign-finance/

Barack Obama
$260,926,200

Obama has over 100 Million in the vault

Mitt Romney

$122,024,185*

"The presumptive nominee, Mr. Romney ended March with $10 million in cash."

March?  How much cash did he have at the end of June?

No those numbers are for the end of May 31st.  The note was to reference the increase in donation to Romney the last 2 months

Thanks, but the March numbers don't mean much, especially with what Romney has done in May and June.  In fact, Obama is now conceding Romney will outraise him.

Maybe...but what's hurting Romney isn't money but perception.

I doubt he has a perception problem that will cost him a significant number of votes.  It's not like his wife is spending six figures on an international vacation, or he's spending weeks on one of the most expensive and nicest beaches on earth.

I'm referring to him not answering all of Obama's attack ads regarding Bain Capital, his off shore accounts, etc....he could be talking about Office Depot or GST Steel and he has the money to return fire but he's letting Obama run a train up his ass.

Even Obamacare he's wobbling on....He had a golden opportunity after the SC ruling to take Obama to task and pick up votes and what does he do.....he goes and says its a penalty rather than saying its a tax and then even worse he says its a tax 10 days later making it a flip flop...... ::)

He needs some Palin/Santorum style speeches in his campaign.  He needs to attack hard, hit below the belt, kick him in the nuts, call him a Muslim, a traitor, a socialist, a communist, an idiot.....go on the offense and ground and pound him all the way to November....instead he's just playing it safe and that's why he's losing in almost every poll out there.

I can't disagree.    Romney is acting very strange lately IMHO.   I have to be honest.    I am not thrilled.

He actually is doing that.  At least from what I've seen.  He's running very good campaign ads.  He's giving good speeches.  He's raising a ton of money.  He's in a dead heat in the polls, doing far better than Clinton around this same time in 1992, when Clinton was facing an incumbent.  He's not running a perfect campaign, but he's doing what he needs to do to win at this point.  If he keeps this up until the debates, he will be in very good shape, because he's a much better debater than Obama.

But it will be a close race IMO.

Romney is running a horrible campaign....even Rush Limbaugh admitted that Romney's campaigning is shitty.  He's trying to float through every round instead of trying to go for the knockout.  He's letting Obama dictate the race right now and he's just covering up and putting his hands over his head.

He needs to get vicious...in the terms of punching him in the face and soccer kicking him while he's on the ground.  He's got to attack and attack and attack some more.  He doesn't need to think about it or come up with some complicated strategy...he just needs to swing for the fences and really go for it.

You listen to Rush?  (I don't.)  Do you often agree with him?

I disagree about his campaign.  McCain ran a pretty bad campaign.  Romney is doing much better.  He's had about a month since he won enough delegates to be the nominee and his campaign coffers have skyrocketed since then.  I don't see this terrible campaign.  At least not yet.

Obama isn't dictating anything.  He doesn't even have a message.  Do you know what Obama's theme is?  What's his message?

Romney is scared shitless of obama.  Hes like a little puppy dog trying to growl at moments but just pissing the floor.  Most people can see hes in over his head.  And obama is just gearing uo to talk about the gop taking away "Pre-existing conditions" and knocking off the college kids of parents from policies.....tons more like offshore accounts, job outsourcing...bain...... ..good lord it wont be pretty.

You apparently forgot about my BUCS back in 2002.  ;D

As far as flip-flopping goes, Obama is in no position to criticize Romney on that. He's flip-flopped on gay "marriage", on not raising taxes, etc.

And, Romney's made it clear. He's going to hit Obama with his campaign promise about not raising taxes on the middle class. Obama can't duck that.

LOL, what tax increase on middle class??  You mean a mandate for the 1% of people that will have to pay a penalty of 90 dollars for not being responsible to buy a policy from big business insurance companies??      I know the 250k earners might run out out of the temporary  tax incentitives theyve enjoyed all these years....but no in middle class.

Forward where, OFF A CLIFF?

Obama has been an abject FAILURE as a president.

Did he keep unemployment under 8%? PLEASE!! It's been 8% or higher for 42 months straight (9% or higher for 33 months).

Did he cut the deficit in half? HARDLY!! It's DOUBLED on his watch.

Did he keep his word not to raise taxes on the middle-class? HELL, NO!! ObamaCare and end of Bush tax cuts in 2013, enough said.

Did he lower premiums on healthcare? GET REAL!! He's trying to shaft the middle class, vets, and employers with this foolishness called ObamaCare. If it's so great, why are all these waivers going out to his political allies?

Not to mention, he's the only president to get our credit rating downgraded, which it's been for nearly a year.

His party got murdered in the midterms (worst loss in over 70 years).

He'll be the only president to end a four-year term with MORE JOBS LOST THAN GAINED.

And you want four more years of this garbage?

At least a dozen taxes in ObamaCare affect people making under 250K. 75% of the cost of this crap goes on those making under 120K.

Yes, it's $95......in 2014. Go forward a couple of years. It's nearly $700. And that's just for someone single.

For families, that goes over $2000. The prices go up almost exponentially. Why else do you think Obama plugged this crap not to take full effect until AFTER 2014? If this is so great, put into full effect NOW!!

Oh, I forgot!! You have to pass it before you know what's in it. That's the Obama/Pelosi way, much like cancer. Hide as much as you can, until it's too late for people to do anything about it.
