Both wrong ;) , if you 'studied' hard enough youd notice that mcCartney was way behind Lennon till about 66 as a songwriter, then he definetly carried the band the last few years! But i believe Lennons earlier stuff was way ahead of McCartney so you could say Paul learned everything he knew from John  :)

I prefer Lennon's anti-establishment, rebelious type of attitude to McCartney's good two shoes ass kissing nonsense.  Lennon was more in touch with reality than McCartney.



They were really both equal in terms of song writing ability.

I don't think Paul learned everything he knew from John but I do think you are totally dead-on...that John obviously dominated the group early on but Paul came into his own later on and carried the group until they split up...even George began to rival John and Paul toward the end when he wrote "Here Comes The Sun" and "Something"

George was a genius but was years being McCartney and Lennon....but he came into his own later on as well

George also said in interviews that Lennon and McCartney held him back...they wanted to put all of their songs on the albums and wouldn't take his songs seriously in the studio......

Not a huge Beatles fan, but the range and what they did between 1965-70 is stunning, probably never to be replicated.
