I'm not sure where the OP is from but I haven't seen those pants around here neither. It looks Italian and Italy is well known for it's closet faggotry.
I think americans are far from the ones to speak about fashion, afterall, eh.. And it'd be a shame to even try to compare Italians to Americans in that sense. Just go look around Milan and see how classy people look there, females, males.. diff. kind of styles, come classic, some sport, some you coudln't even name, but they are not afraid to experiment with clothes (and that doesn't make 'em homo lol). But a statistical American, who wears baggy jeans, two sizes too large, some sneakers and a washed up t-shirt it may not be understandable (not reffering to you, but - generally).. A usual Italian female in US would be considered an "overdresser", which is ridiculous (the same americans who go to countries like that are drooling all over the place when they see 'em..).
