Lebron has played better this year towards the end of games, yes he did. But just from looking at that 1992 team give me Jordan, Bird, Malone and Magic to take the last shot or make something happen.

I'm not arguing whether the 92 or 12 team would win.  I'm saying Lebron would nullify Jordan.

Exactly, this "build a team around Lebron" and Lebron hesitates to take a shot? Please, he doesn't have the heart, he has the talent---but, I'll take heart and talent over Lebron's "athleticism" anyday of the week.

Lebron is what is marketed to people now---image. When you get down to his core, him vs Jordan, Jordan wants to not just beat you and the team, but he wants to humiliate you. Something Lebron can't comprehend. Most of the players today, only turn it up on the 4th quarter. Play hit and miss the first half, to guage...then about the end of the 3rd quarter start to get serious.

Lebron maybe has 4 more years where he can bring the ball to the net at will. That body is going to break down. And if his outside shot stays the same way it is today, he is going to be in trouble. Although i'm sure he will adapt, he's just not a pure shooter like Jordan is/was.

nobody has pointed out the most obvious flaw of the 2012 team.....Tyson Chandler is the Center for the 2012 team!!....compared with David Robinson and Patrick Ewing of the dream team.

now if dwight howard were on the 2012 team along with dwade then the argument that kobe advanced would make more sense.

Jordan took the same shit lebron took before he won a title..."when is he going to get over the hurdle and win?"

I believe Lebron won his first title younger than Jordan. You people are doing the old "back in my day".... everything that is older is better. Jordan was the greatest player ever, and lebron COULD have the same title when he's done in 12 years.

Jordan was just as much a media creation as he was a basketball player, he was the first mega-star that had his own brand and all that shit, and the refs let him get away with murder

Jordan also refused to play on the '92 team if Isaiah thomas was on that team.

quite true, but Nike and the media have been searching for "The Next Jordan", the only one to really fit that mold and mentality is Kobe-- Lebron is hollow market-exercise...all image. He lacks heart to me, and let's face it, Lebron was a high school phenom, Jordan wasn't. One could say he came into his own at  UNC, and that his skills developed later, or one could say, he wasn't as blessed as Lebron, but he made up for it. And let's not forget a certain U of Maryland basketballer who if he didn't die, quite possibly there wouldn't have been a Jordan.

To me, this "build a team of three pointers around Lebron", just means that Lebon can continue the same "pass the ball when things get heated".

Well, it worked out pretty good this year. they crushed the thunder, who are the young, talented team of the league.

and i hear you on the "next Jordan" shit...Jordan was like Arnold, right place, right time...perfect combination of  talent and charisma. You can't manufacture that, although Nike still keeps trying, and ruining Basketball in the process. Lebron is Lebron, he's not Jordan... but what's he supposed to say, "no"... to hundreds of millions of dollars and being treated like the second coming from the time he was 16 years old?

Defensively, put Lebron on Jordan and Jordan would get shut down. I know its blasphamy and if you search you'll see I'm a Lebron hater, it's pure truth.  Lebron can play defense on anyone.

You could say it the other way around prob more so Jordan won defensive player of the year(87-88)while still having one of his best offensive put outs.lebron hasn't won one of those yet and he's still 5 championship short to even have this conversation. Plus the way lebron limped off with 2 min left in the game this past series shows no heart, Jordan would turn into a beast take the game over and never miss the game winning shot lebron always misses.

Jordan's Hall of Fame speech is a looking glass into why there probably will never be another Jordan. The guy literally took what anyone ever said bad about him and used it to fuel his passion for the game and everything he does in life. A lot of people say they will use negativity to propel them. But very few actually stay the course. The guy simply is some sort of machine. Your classic sociopath who will never get out of his own head. I believe Tiger Woods was the same exact way before his meltdown. Jordan is and was simply awesome.

No way Kobe and the rest of today's pansies could hold a candle to the dream team.  They are legends. And while I think Lebron plays great defense especially for a superstar whom usually focus on offense, I will have to disagree with Wiggs that he could shut down MJ. Jordan would find a way to score. But yeah Kobe must be high to make a comment like that.

Charles Barkley already commented on this after tonight's espy show.

Basically called Kobe an ass clown, kobe was quoting as saying the 92 team were all old players, Barkley responded with "isn't Kobe  like 36??? (34yrs old) I was 29 and MJ was 29 as well, so kobe is the old man here, besides Kobe , James and Durrant, nobody else would even make our 92 roaster"

I agree with the poster on page 2.... the pistons were WAY rougher on jordan than the heat were on durant.

barkley said it best - aside from kobe, lebron, and durant... I don't think any of these guys would even MAKE the 1992 team ;)

it's true.  Yes, today's team has "speed".  But the 92 guys played in a more physical league.

Hakeem Olajuwon wasn't eligible for the '92 Dream Team because he wasn't a U.S. citizen at the time.

Hakeem would out class Lebron IMO.

Stop this nonsense fella. Of couse you would pick Lebrons statistacally worse year to prove your point. ::)
Yet this year, the year he won he average 29pts, 10 rbs, 8 assist.  A number not seen since Wilt...Hahaha...
As I've said, Jordan is still King but if you put Lebron on Jordan, Jordan's going night night.

BTW fellas 90% Durants points are jumpshots or free throws, not in the paint,  This is why he still scores.  Jordans points were in the paint, this is why Jordan would get shut down by Lebron.  Lebron owns the paint.

I'm not a Lebron fan I call it like it is.  I'm a San Antonio Spur fan... :'(
Ha! Jordan's points were in the paint? Ya in 1986. He was a deadly jumpshooter and always mixed up it. Shooting, driving, passing. Lebron is the one-dimensional one, he can't shoot to save his life

None of those "best defenders" was a Lebron.  Dude is on another level defensively when he wants to be. 6'8 260 Lebron would successfully nullify 6'6 220 Jordan. Jordan is still king but if Lebron guarded Jordan, Jordan aint scoring over 20. There would be nothing Jordan could do to stop Lebron despite all his 1st team defense awards. Lebrons too big to fast to strong. Lebron would score 30 or more on Jordan every night.

That's the trouble.  The "when he wants to be".  I am no basketball fan, but Jordon had that 'winner' mindset that Lebron will never have.  Barry Sanders was like that.  A friend of mine played for the Lions during that time.  He was saying that during practice, with running plays Barry would run it to the end zone.  If any other RB would do that, the coaches would go ape shit.  I actually have more respect for Jordon after watching the documentary on the Dream Team.  He was an absolute machine.

It almost got comical there for a while. EVERYBODY in the arena and watching on television knew that Lebron needed to take the shot within the last 2 minutes or so and there were times where he would pass the ball just as soon as he received it.
No aathlete has ever had the pressure that Lebron has had to win a tile! It sttarted the day he was drafted to the Cavs! Watch what happens now that he has his title!
