One of the genuine all time greats and a personal inspiration for me.  I have met him and he is a gentleman.  Intelligent, hard working and both he and his wife Laree are just great.

We look a lot alike but his bone structure was much larger than my own, still I could not have been more inspired to train.  He is nearing 71, still trains hard and lives well.  My children have autographed photos of him, as do I.   Dave is now Christian, he was kind enough to include a verse fromt the Bible on the photographs.

He is a good man.

If you look at weider mags in the 60s, draper was the most featured guy, in articles, pics and ads

Also lots of draper and arnold pics later. Perhaps joe weiders way of doing the transition from one poster boy to another

Not really and if you knew him you would realize that he nearly died years ago from drug and alcohol related problems.  He recovered and for whatever reason found faith in Christ.

Philly is currently the most featured guy. Does that makes him the most "gifted" bodybuilder? No, and the same goes for Dave.
Joe is a true jew, he helps people because it's good for his business, has not much to do with genetics. Guys like Robby Robinson & Serge Nubret never got the publicity that they deserved.

Nothing against draper, but in his day ricky wayne and freddy ortiz also didn't possess right look for covers weider was looking for, much like robby and serge later
