A lesson in irony
« on: July 13, 2012, 07:50:47 AM »
The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is actually proud of the fact it is distributing the greatest amount of free meals and food stamps ever.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us to "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because the animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves.

This ends today's lesson.

Read plenty of books where solders back in the day would make a barrier of the enemy they killed to protect themselves from the next attack.

how can make something that's already dependant on you for their well-being even more dependent? Of course these populations need it, but the lazy and unmotivated are the ones I'm sure this is directed to.

Uh, thats not irony at all.  Irony is the opposite (outcome) of what was expected, contrary to expectation.  I think you are Irony Deficient.  Up the dosage of book reading ASAP.

Yeah, but wild animals are inherently better equipped to fend for themselves than the typical American citizen.   ;D

Gentlemen.....keep in mind the Obama Administration has been quoted as saying the Food Stamp program is an "economic stimulus".

So ask yourself, who do you want in the White House....someone who has proven they can make money and create jobs throughout their career in private industry, or someone who can't even hang curtains in a subsidized housing project?

The title and first post of this thread is ironic as it states that this is to be a lesson in true irony, when it is not ironic at all.  Now THAT is true Irony.

Perhaps that was your intent Schmoff?  Probably not though.  :D

It would actually be ironic if you fed the animals and they didn`t become dependent on your handouts.  The same with humans.

Maybe the irony would be more apparent if the wildlife could vote.  Though if it could the department of the interior would change it's policy yesterday.

Most lazy and unmotivated are mentally ill. Take a look at any bum you see on the street. Who the fck would want to work side by side in some cubical with one of them. They're mentally gone.
