nope but can happen anytime. that whole weekend was cursed between him and ratzenberger. If you look at the older f1 cars they had basically no safety features compared to today, but those cars were beast. More pure power than the ones today. The red bulls are straight beast though, I have to give them props.
None of the cars have an avantage over the others today---technically, it's still Ferrari, Mercedes, Mclaren, that are the beasts, not Red Bull. And the cars of the today are far more downforce driven. The new Pirelli tires don't last long, so the teams and drivers have to have strategies on how to make them last.
The new cars put their power down better than those old ones, plus better brakes, better aero, and more carbonfiber. Plus the drivers are in better shape. It was still in the late 70s early 80s that you could see an F1 engine just sitting out in the open---now, you'll almost never get a glimpse of the engine.
