"From the beginning of the implementation of the Obama Recovery Plan, more Americans have joined the ranks of the disabled (3.1 million) than have found jobs (2.6 million). Record numbers have also filed for unemployment insurance, welfare benefits, and food stamps (which one in seven Americans now receive)."

Why didn't Obama push through a massive tax increase when he took office and had a filibster proof Senate and ownership of the house?   Why did he say in 2010 that raising taxes on anyone would be bad for the economy?  The economy certainly isn't any better now than it was then.

Only an idiot (hi, Benny) would fall for this nonsense.

As polls show most Americans support tax increases for the wealthy, how did Republicans hope to sell their plan of more tax cuts for the rich and while raising taxes for working families? It helps if, like House Majority Whip Eric Cantor (R-VA), you argue that it’s unfair for half of Americans to pay no income taxes. Never mind the fact that the working poor pay state sales taxes and other taxes and fees, or that the federal tax code is set up to exclude the working poor with programs like the Earned Income Tax Credit … a program that was created in the 1970s to subsidize low-income jobs.

It’s still unfair for those “lucky duckies” to skate by without paying taxes. Republicans are trying to paint the working poor as the new welfare queens … driving up the debt by soaking up entitlement programs while paying no taxes, protected by a president who wants to undermine America because his father was Kenyan. You don’t need canine hearing to translate that Republicans hope to sell tax increases for the working poor by telling white working class voters those tax increases will stop Those People from busting the budget … and sell tax cuts for the rich by talking about “job creators.”

When it comes to tax cuts, Republicans always want more, more, more … but only for some.

How do you know this "wild willie"?  ??? You seem to have information Willard refuses to share with the rest of America.

I don't think Romney is a "son of a bitch"...more like a phony and a clown.

Everything he did paying his taxes was legal unlike Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner who tried to get away with paying nothing. Another Obama appointment.

They have absoulutely nothing on Mitt. He revealed everything he had to under the law. Since he won't reveal more the democrats say he's hiding something. I would like to see Obama's tax return the day he brought a 4 million dollar house right out of law school. You know what? He won't reveal it.

I will give you this. Obama will win again and it's shows how many morons and goverment dependant people there are. I'm not a Mitt fan but I would vote for anyone but Obama.

You are pulling crap out of your ass. You know nothing about what Willard has or has not paid in taxes.  ::)

I suppose you too believe the middle class should pay more taxes, while millionaires and billionaires have their taxes lowered. That IS the original topic of this thread ya' know.

I will give you this. Obama will win again...

Obama  is trying to create class hate by claiming the rich don't pay enough taxes. He has no problem with 40k a plate dinners for fund raising though. Simpletons think if the rich were made to pay more this countries problems would go away. Let me tell you there aren't enough to make a dent in tax revenue. I do say tax loop holes should be taken away but the tax rate on those making 200K plus is high enough. Do you know how small of a percent of people across the country are making over 150K? It's really small.

There should be a flat tax rate for everyone with no deductions but people are just to stupid to figure it out. If everyone paid a flat 15% tax on what they made the amount of taxes the government got would go through the roof. I don't care if you make 10K or 10 million it should be the same. With a flat tax the amount paid to the government would go down for the overwhelming amount of tax payers.

What does any of this drivel have to do with Willard's tax proposal? As you stated, the percentage of people making over $150k is rather small as it relates to the total population.

So, "oldtimer", do you feel that, oh...200+ million Americans should pay MORE taxes so that those fortunate few at the top (myself included) should pay LESS??? Seriously? You want to help pay for my next vacation (Thanks! :) I'm thinking Cape Verde), or Romney's next car elevator in one of his several mansions, with an increase in your taxes???

A flat rate hammers the poor, smacks around the middle class, and is a veritable windfall for the wealthy. There is a reason why Steve Forbes never gains any traction with that idea.

Republicans are for "the rich".

Democrats are for "the poor".

Both parties work as hard as they can to create more of their "voters".

(Think about it a little ya fackin' morons)
