i am really bored of these "cool" people claiming that everything is a scam, a myth, from high protein diets through the GI index to eating clean...
I am over 30, I trained regularly and ate like a normal person (meaning not overfeeding myself) and got fat. It was not a problem when I was 20, but things changed after 30. Then, some years ago I started eating "clean" - counting calories, very few simple carbs, chicken breast, tuna etc. and I now have the health look. Even if a calorie is a calorie (which I don't think), you simply can control the intake of sugar, trans fat etc. when eating at the workplace's canteen or at Subway. You may not need that much protein as magazines and supplement co-s say, but I am sure, eating lots of quality meat won't hurt from a muscle building perspective...
