i know i look as good as him (my opinion not being arrogant) when he was 21. wish there was a programme or something if you submitted a photo to show how you would look after 10yrs hard training and steroids.

Dorian winning the 1986 British Heavies, but lost the overall to Chris Oskys, the LHW winner. He weighed 212,by todays definition they would call him a swimmer.

Then he came back in 1988 and took the overall to earn his pro card.

they used to airbrush out his tattoos

he had SKINS on his right knuckles, he got that removed
"skins" on your knuckles is not good for business in the US
damn sure better stay out of the hip hop clubs
that's some hardcore shit to put on your knuckles.
i knew this hillbilly clown who had a KKK hood tat on his arm
i couldn't fuckin' believe it.  he never did time either.
two thumbs WAY up!!!

There's a huge difference from those 83 photos to the one of him winning the heavyweight class at 86 British Championships. Even from the photo that shows him 7th in heavyweights, is that photo from 85. That's great improvement in one year.

The photo that says 7th is one that i scanned of him from the World Games in 1985,one week after his first show in the EFBB,in the novice class, and he was picked to represent his country up against Berry DeMay and Matt Mendenhall. One year later he won the British Heavyweights.

These early pics are great, as they show what he did prior (in my opinion) to juicing.  That kind of development can be expected after one year of proper training and diet.

And the fact that he became who he did is in my opinion no surprise as he trained hard naturally for his gains in the beginning...and built upon that when his growth slowed, I would think.  But I would say his gym mentality stayed the course...it was HE who did the work, not the drugs....as many pros I would hazard to guess would....their intensity stays at a certain level, and the drugs do help, but since their mental focus lacks they can't surpass the obtacles to a truly great physique.  My opinion.

I say that his results look natural as I myself have attained similar results, and yet I feel I don't have fantastic genetics...no better than his.  Compare these to the bogus 'natural' Shawn Ray photos floating about and you'll see.

I notice that in most of the early pics I see of the Pros, they're very lean and proportionate with good lines. They don't usually look naturally big and burly like most would expect though.

hands down, best side triceps pose EVER.

even in the early pics, dorian looked different than the other guys - thicker and denser.  while, dorian himself will say that he had decent genetics, for bbing, his gift was thickness and density.  something few can achieve, regardless of success as a pro (coleman for instance- not known for thickness and density, but def. has it.  just looks different on dorian.)
