Second Snatch attempt ( #196 ) he lost it behind, it smacked him on the neck and pin him to the platform for a few seconds. He walked it of and his bulk helped break the fall, but it was a scary accident. He decided to withdraw after that.

These are the elite strength athletes of the world in the Olympics. They are incredibly fast and powerful. You're living in a fantasy world praising the athletes of the TV show the World's Strongest Man. Powerlifting is a joke today with the suits and the super shallow squats.

Just to give you people some perspective. Misha Koklyaev was 3rd in the World's Strongest Man a few years ago. He hasn't even been able to qualify for the olympics in weightlifting! Now there might have been some politics that have put him in disadvantage, but many believe that he just hasn't been consistant enough in his lifting for him to get on the olympic platform.

Yeah, Rigert was interviewed on this, he said the main reason was a) Inconsistance in his lifting and b) they were scared of him failing the drug tests and didn't want to risk letting him in. According to Rigert, he didn't show up for one, and it was explained to him that he had to be there when called, and when he didn't hear back, they dropped him.

Olympic weightlifters are NOT the premier STRENGTH athletes of this world. The elite POWER athletes, yes.

Strongman is not a TV show. It's a sport that sometimes gets featured on television. I mean, is weightlifting a TV show?

Now, let me attempt to clarify something for you. Strongman is not powerlifting, any more than powerlifting is weightlifting.

One more thing. You must be unaware that there are federations that do not allow support gear (just a belt ... like Olympic lifters, actually!) and adhere to very strict standards of squatting depth, etc.

When you are SO very ignorant about a subject, it's best to keep quiet.

Koklyaev says that it is all politics.
But he looks like he is swimming in growth hormone for years, i think doping concerns not that groundless.
