Obama Knocks Republican Super PACs in Colorado(video at link)
 The Weekly Standard ^ | AUG 9, 2012 | DANIEL HALPER

As the super PAC aligned with Barack Obama is coming under fire for suggesting Mitt Romney might have been responsible for a woman dying of cancer, President Obama knocked Republican super PACs in a speech today in Colorado:

"Now, I have to tell you that we have less than three months left in the election," Obama said. "Less than three months. Time's flying. and over the next three months, you will see more negative ads, more money spent than you have ever seen in your life. I mean, these super PACs, and these guys are writing $10 million checks and giving them to Mr. Romney's supporters, and -- basically, they have all the same argument. They all say the same thing. They say that the economy is bad and it is Obama's fault. now, let me tell you something. every ad is the same argument."

Romney asks where 'hope and change' went amid furor over ad, Obama aides' response
Published August 09, 2012
FoxNews.com

Mitt Romney asked Thursday where all the "hope and change" has gone, as President Obama's supporters pressed ahead with plans to air a misleading TV ad and a top campaign aide was accused of "lying" about her knowledge of its contents.

The Republican presidential candidate, in his most forceful comments to date, suggested Obama's supporters should be "embarrassed" over the super PAC ad that ties him to a woman's death from cancer. But he wasn't holding out hope that the group would pull it down, after the Democratic operative behind the ad claimed it'll be airing soon in battleground states despite the furor.

"You know, in the past when somebody pointed out that something was inaccurate campaigns either pulled the ad - they were embarrassed," Romney said on Bill Bennett's "Morning in America" radio show. "Today, they just blast ahead."

The Obama campaign has faced mounting criticism over the ad not just from Romney but independent fact-checkers, though the ad was produced by the purportedly independent super PAC Priorities USA.

Further, Obama Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter is now being accused by the Romney campaign of lying over what she knew about the man at the center of that ad.

Cutter appeared on CNN Wednesday morning to say, among other things, that "I don't know the facts" about the case of Joe Soptic, the steelworker who appeared in the video. In the ad, Soptic, recounts how his wife died of cancer after he lost his health insurance when his plant was shuttered after a takeover by Bain Capital and other companies working with the private equity firm.

Cutter said she didn't know when Soptic's wife fell ill, or about his health insurance.

Yet in May, Cutter herself hosted a conference call in which Soptic detailed his case to reporters. During the call, as he did in the ad, Soptic explained how his wife fell ill after he lost his job, and how he lost his health insurance. The call took place as Soptic began appearing in Obama campaign ads, and was featured in a profile on the Obama campaign website.

The Obama campaign has acknowledged that conference call, but has not responded directly to allegations that anyone lied.

Cutter wasn't the only Obama campaign official caught up in the controversy.

"I certainly don't know the specifics of this man's case," campaign adviser Robert Gibbs said on MSNBC.

Campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters "we don't have any knowledge of the story of the family."

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney claimed he hadn't seen the ad, though it had already gotten heavy media coverage by that point.

Former New Hampshire Gov. John Sununu, a top Romney surrogate, told Fox News that while the super PAC is defending the ad's accuracy, "the lie is in the omissions."

The ad did not reveal key details about the timeline of Soptic's case. First, Soptic's wife initially had her own health insurance after her husband lost his job. Second, Soptic's wife died in 2006, five years after her husband's company, GST, filed for bankruptcy. And long after Romney had left Bain Capital.

Sununu blasted Obama aides for denying knowledge of the case.

"First of all they craft a despicable ad full of lies," Sununu said. "And then Stephanie Cutter and Robert Gibbs and Jay Carney lie to the press that they didn't know anything that was in that ad."

Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt stressed Wednesday, in response to the criticism, that "we can't coordinate with super PACs and didn't produce" the ad.

"Joe Soptic suffered when he lost his job in the aftermath of the GST Steel plant closing, and no one is denying that he discussed that when he appeared in a campaign advertisement and on a conference call.  The important point here is that Mitt Romney's campaign is based solely on his experience as a corporate buyout specialist, and while he has been quick to claim he created jobs, he refuses to accept responsibility for the jobs that were lost and workers that were impacted," he said.

In an interview with CNN late Wednesday, Priorities USA co-founder Bill Burton defended the ad and said it would be going up in battleground states across the country.

We have reached a point in the 2012 campaign when you long for a referee — someone with a whistle to call foul and declare that one side has so discredited itself that it must forfeit points or be otherwise disqualified.

Nancy Pelosi, the leader who warned that we were losing "500 million jobs a month" without the stimulus bill and who said "God bless them" regarding Occupy Wall Street but condemned the tea party as "AstroTurf," has declared that the Republican Party supports E. coli. True, it's not news when Pelosi mangles the facts. But until her colleagues demote her, she remains the leader of House Democrats. Speaking at a fundraiser, she described the Republican Party as follows: "It's an ideology. We shouldn't have a government role. So reduce the police, the fire, the teachers — reduce their role." As a mother, she continued, "You could depend on the government for one thing — it was about, you had to be able to trust the water that our kids drank and the food that they ate. But this is the E. coli club. They do not want to spend money to do that."

In an ideal world, a loud buzzer would issue from the heavens. Foul! The Democrats have presided over an expansion of the welfare state to the point where 1 in 3 American households now receive some form of welfare. That's 100 million Americans receiving benefits — excluding those receiving Social Security, Medicare and the Earned Income Tax Credit. Yet to suggest that the federal government must reduce the rate of increase in federal spending — or even to cut back to the comparatively sane levels of spending that prevailed under Bill Clinton and George W. Bush — is to be the party of E. coli. Maybe Pelosi should stick to theology. She once explained that the Catholic Church didn't oppose abortion.

Don't look to the other body for relief. The Senate majority leader, who holds a post usually associated with at least a minimal level of dignity, has descended into outright McCarthyism — claiming that "the word is out" that Mitt Romney hadn't paid taxes in 10 years. How did the "word" get out? Some anonymous caller supposedly told it to Harry Reid. Where's that buzzer? An equivalent accusation would be for John Boehner to announce that "the word is out" that Barack Obama quietly and illegally gutted the work requirements in the welfare reform law passed in 1996. Oh, wait ...

Now, an Obama Super PAC, Priorities USA, has issued an ad that is so cartoonish that it seems to have come straight from The Onion. A former employee of GST Steel, Joe Soptic, accuses Mitt Romney of closing the plant. Actually, the plant was shut down two years after Romney left Bain. Soptic then relates that his wife became ill, but because he had lost his health coverage due to the plant closing, she couldn't afford health coverage and died of cancer. Not quite. The plant closed in 2001. She died in 2006. Ranae Soptic didn't lose health coverage because of what happened to her husband. She was covered by her own employer, until an injury caused her to lose her job. The ad closes with Soptic saying, "I do not think Mitt Romney realizes what he's done to anyone, and furthermore I do not think Mitt Romney is concerned." Buzz.

As CNN and others have noted, Soptic has cooperated with the Obama campaign before and appeared in an Obama ad back in May — though, oddly, Obama campaign advisor Robert Gibbs insists that he "doesn't know the specifics of this woman's case." Bain bought the troubled steel company, couldn't revive it and closed it. It's possible that if Bain hadn't invested in the company, it would have closed in 1993 instead of 2001. It's possible that even if Ranae Soptic's cancer had been detected earlier, she would have died anyway. It's possible that Joe Soptic might have contracted cancer if the plant had remained open, leaving his wife a widow. Who knows? The beat of a butterfly's wings in Bolivia supposedly can cause a thunderstorm in Bangor. But never let a misfortune go to waste when you can accuse your opponent of murder.

This has become the season of Democrat disgrace. Beyond running the dirtiest, emptiest and most deceptive campaign in memory, the party has demonstrated a total incapacity to govern. The Democrat-controlled Senate has not passed a budget — the sine qua non of governing — in more than three years. Under Reid's leadership, no budget resolution has even been brought to the floor. The federal debt, under Barack Obama, has increased by more than $5 trillion in less than four years. The economy is stalled. After saying (in a nonelection year) that he lacked the power unilaterally to alter immigration laws, the president did exactly that. The administration was so heedless of national security in its haste to laud Obama's accomplishments that even the usually phlegmatic former Obama administration secretary of defense, Robert Gates, felt obliged to tell the president's national security advisor to "shut the f—- up."

There is no cosmic buzzer. It's all up to us voters.

Obama Bringing Chicago-Style Politics to Election Season
 New American ^ | 8-9-12 | Jack Kerwick, Ph.D.

Posted on Thursday, August 09, 2012

It would seem that all of the optimistic talk of “hope” and “change” that marked President Obama’s campaign of four years ago is now ancient history. This election season, as the Obama administration forecasted prior to the completion of the GOP primaries, would be full of nit and grit. As the most recent Obama super PAC ad makes abundantly clear, the president is making good on his word.

Priorities USA Action produced an ad — “Understands” is its title — that implicates Mitt Romney in the death of the wife of a steelworker whose Kansas City plant — GST Steel — was closed down by Bain Capital while Romney presided over its affairs.

The ad begins with these words: “Mitt Romney and Bain Capital made millions for themselves and then closed this steel plant.” Immediately thereafter, steelworker Joe Soptic explains that it was precisely because his place of employment ceased to operate that he could no longer afford the health insurance necessary to pay the medical expenses of his cancer-stricken wife. “I do not think Mitt Romney realizes what he’s done to anyone,” Soptic says. “Furthermore, I do not think that Mitt Romney is concerned.”

In spite of the fact that Romney’s campaign spokesperson, Andrea Saul, characterized the ad as “despicable,” Obama refuses to repudiate it. Moreover, Bill Burton — a one-time White House aide to the president and a co-founder of Priorities USA Action, stood by the ad.

However effective the ad may be is anyone’s guess. But luckily for the Obama campaign, effectiveness rarely depends on accuracy.

Bain Capital took over GST Steel in 1993. In 2001, Soptic’s employer went out of business. For two reasons, these dates are highly relevant vis-à-vis Mitt Romney. First, had Bain Capital, under Romney’s leadership, not assumed control of the steel plant when it did, it would have been all but a foregone conclusion that GST Steel would have shut down shop at a much earlier date. Being the immensely successful private equity firm that Romney helped it to become, Bain Capital would invest money only in those businesses that it was either trying to get off the ground, like Staples, say, or those that it was trying to save — like GST Steel. What this means is that it almost certain that Joe Soptic would have been out of a job much sooner than he was had it not been for Bain Capital coming to the rescue of the fledgling GST Steel.

Second, in 2001, when the steel plant actually closed, Romney had already been absent from Bain for two years. While being interviewed on Bill Bennett’s nationally syndicated radio talk show, Romney was not short on words when it came to his assailant. “I don’t know what happened to a campaign of hope and change,” he said to Bennett. “I thought he was a new kind of politician.”

Obama, Romney continued, persists in running ads that numerous fact-checking agencies repeatedly expose as inaccurate. This former Massachusetts governor does not exaggerate. Obama has chosen to make Bain Capital the centerpiece of his campaign against Romney, yet beginning back in May when the attacks began, the claims that he and his supporters have made in this regard have been exposed by disparate sources as baseless.

Even some of Obama’s supporters, like such prominent Democrats as Bill Clinton, Cory Booker, Ed Rendell, and Deval Patrick, to name but a few, have categorically repudiated the president’s strategy while defending both Bain and Romney’s record as its CEO.

Yet it hasn’t been only Obama’s supporters among politicians who have renounced his campaign against Bain and Romney. Democrat-friendly CNN, ABC, and The Washington Post are among the media agencies that have revealed Obama’s allegations to be without merit.

Despite Romney’s current air of incredulity regarding the decidedly negative approach of his rival’s campaign, this isn’t the first time that Obama has gone for the jugular veins of his opponents. Indeed, there really has never been a time when he hasn’t been willing to get down and dirty in order to achieve victory. Way back in 1996, in his first race for a Chicago Senate seat, Obama manipulated election rules to eliminate from the ballot three fellow Democrats who were running against him. All of the signatures that they had accumulated on voting petitions were effectively invalidated.

As Chicago Tribune columnist, John Kass, remarked in 2008: “That was Chicago politics.” Kass added: “Knock out your opposition, challenge their petitions, destroy your enemy, right? It is how Barack Obama destroyed his enemies back in 1996 that conflicts with his message [of “hope” and “change”] today.”

Kass also mentioned that while Obama “may have gotten his start registering thousands of voters” as a community organizer, “in that first race, he made sure that voters had just one choice.”

When Obama ran against Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary contest of 2008, who can forget how nasty that competition became? Even seasoned politician Bill Clinton cried foul, charging Obama and his cronies with “playing the race card on me.” Clinton said at the time: “I think that they played the race card on me. And we now know, from memos from the campaign and everything that they planned to do it all along.”

Nor was Obama’s campaign against John McCain for the presidency in 2008 devoid of its share of below-the-belt blows. Because of the injuries he sustained while being held captive for five years in a Vietnamese prisoner-of-war camp, McCain’s mobility was considerably restricted. Among the activities that he found it difficult to engage in was that of using a computer. But this didn’t stop Obama from running an ad mocking McCain for this handicap.

Obama also encouraged his supporters during a campaign speech in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to get aggressive with their political opponents. Referring to Republicans, Obama promised: “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.”

McCain’s campaign spokesperson at the time, Tucker Bounds, quickly replied: “Barack Obama’s call for a ‘new politics’ is officially over. In just 24 hours, Barack Obama attacked one of America’s pioneering women CEO’s, rejected a series of joint bipartisan town halls, and said that if there’s a political knife fight, he’d bring a gun.”

Whether Romney is really surprised by Obama’s tactics is doubtful. One thing is for sure, however: If the president’s track record is any indication of the events to come, none of us should be surprised to see Chicago-style politics dominating this election season.

ELECTION 2012

The cost of winning ugly

Pat Buchanan: 'Obama has steadily diminished both himself and the office he holds'

This week, the friends of Barack Obama introduced into the political battle of 2012 the moral equivalent of poison gas.

In an ad produced by the super PAC Priorities USA, Mitt Romney is charged with moral, if not material, complicity in the cancer death of the wife of a Missouri steelworker.

The Coming Of JesusYou Think You Know The Bible Well? Test Yourself With Our Trivia Game www.BibleTriviaTime.com
Occupy UnmaskedNew Breitbart film exposes Occupy Wall Street - Watch the trailer OccupyUnmasked.com

Speaking straight into the camera, Joe Soptic, 62, charges Romney with coldly shutting down the plant where he worked and cutting off his health insurance. This, says Soptic, left his wife without insurance to pay for her care, until, falling ill, she went to a doctor, who discovered stage 4 cancer, which killed her in 22 days.

Soptic implies a causal connection between Romney’s decision to shut the plant and his wife’s death. The ad is a premeditated attempt to murder the reputation of Mitt Romney. And from start to finish, it is a deception.

The truth.

Mitt Romney gave up leadership of Bain Capital in 1999. The steel plant was closed in 2001. Soptic lost his health insurance, but his wife was still working and had hers. She lost her job and insurance in 2003. Her illness and cancer were discovered in 2006, when Romney was ending his fourth year as governor of Massachusetts.

Was this ad the work of a rogue super PAC over which the Obama campaign had no control? Did the White House denounce the ad as unethical and malicious and wash its hands of it?

By no means. The White House, through its cynical silence, has been complicit in this moral atrocity as it reaps the benefits of it.

As for Soptic, he has been a collaborator of the Obama campaign itself, featured in a campaign ad and a conference call with reporters last May. What this smells like is a secret handoff from the Obama campaign to the Obama super PAC, which would be a violation of law.

While many journalists have denounced the ad as duplicitous and slanderous, some have hailed it. Unconcerned with its falsity, they love its message. For it mirrors what they themselves think of Mitt.

One wonders: Has the president given any thought to how he is to unite and lead the country should he win, given the character of the campaign he and his team have waged?

For a year now, the daily picture of Barack Obama most of us see is of a president heading for his helicopter for yet another rally to denounce Republicans as tea-party obstructionists and Mitt Romney as an outsourcer and a tax dodger.

A week ago, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that a confidant had informed him that Romney paid no income taxes for 10 years. Harry repeated this accusation on the floor.

Instead of denouncing this sleazy tactic – a charge with no substance and without an identifiable source – the Obama chorus echoed Harry: Show us the last 10 years of your tax returns.

Are these not the same politicians and media who denounced as vicious wackos any who dared to ask to see Obama’s birth certificate or the transcript from his college days at Columbia?

Assume, for the sake of argument, that these tactics work, that Obama wins re-election and that he and Harry hold the Senate.

How do they govern?

Mr. Hope and Change, the figure who once inspired millions, died a long time ago. In his stead stands a Chicago pol who barnstorms the country calling Republicans political lap dogs of millionaires and billionaires who refuse to pay their fair share of taxes.

In this campaign, Obama has steadily diminished both himself and the office he holds. Remarkable what a fear of defeat and a loss of power can do to a man.

How – after you stand cynically silent while your super PAC mongrels accused Romney of throwing the Soptic family out on the street, stripping them of health care and then letting the wife die of cancer – do you then reach out to your defeated rival?

The presidency is uniquely a place of moral leadership, said Harry Truman, a “bully pulpit,” said Theodore Roosevelt.

How, after the long, low and miserable campaign he and his crowd have conducted, does Obama ascend that pulpit again without being laughed at and hooted at until he stands down?

How does he resolve the fiscal crisis looming at year’s end?

Obama says he rather would not extend any of the Bush tax cuts than extend all of them. The Republican House will give him all or nothing. Yet if Obama wins and lets all of the tax cuts expire, he will need the cooperation of a Republican House and perhaps a Republican Senate to restore the cuts for those earning less than $200,000.

Obama will have to have the cooperation of a Republican House and perhaps a Republican Senate for any budget compromise to bring an end to his debilitating string of five straight trillion-dollar deficits.

Having accomplished nothing in the past two years, how would Obama accomplish anything in the next four after such a campaign?

Obama camp acknowledges knowing man's story

By BYRON TAU |
8/9/12 4:06 PM EDT

Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki acknowledged Thursday that the campaign was no longer pleading ignorance about the story of a man who has appeared in both a super PAC ad and a campaign ad.

"No one is denying he was in one of our campaign ads. He was on a conference call telling his story," Psaki told reporters on Air Force One.

Missouri steelworker Joe Soptic starred in an Obama campaign ad and participated in a conference call with the campaign in May, as POLITICO reported Wednesday. He resurfaced this week in a Priorities USA Action super PAC ad, charging that his wife died of cancer after Mitt Romney's former private equity firm laid him off.

Distancing themselves from the controversial ad, Obama campaign staffers initially denied knowledge of Soptic's story — despite the fact that he was in an Obama campaign ad.

Adviser Robert Gibbs said he didn’t know "specifics," while deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter said on CNN: “I don’t know the facts about when Mr. Soptic’s wife got sick or the facts about his health insurance."

And yesterday on Air Force One, Psaki said, "we don’t have any knowledge of the story of the family."

‘Disgusting’ Pro-Obama Ad Criticized by Democrat (Lanny Davis condemns Mitt is murderer)
 kvor ^ | aug 2012

Posted on Thursday, August 09, 2012 5:54:29

Priorities USA Action(WASHINGTON) -- Lanny Davis, a former top adviser to President Bill Clinton, today issued a scathing rebuke to a controversial new Democratic super PAC ad that ties Mitt Romney to a woman’s death from cancer.

“I’m pretty sad for our country that we have presidential candidates engaging in sophomoric — and that’s a compliment — sophomoric name calling,” Davis said in an interview on WMAL radio in Washington.

Davis says both Romney and Obama, and their supporters, have sponsored ads “that make us all want to take a shower.” But when it comes to the cancer ad, he said the pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA Action has gone too far.

“Bill Burton needs to go back to ethics school,” Davis said of the group’s senior strategist, who is a former Obama White House spokesman. “He knows perfectly well that the ad is misleading and disgusting and he needs to apologize for it.”

The former Clinton aide, however, says Romney and his supporters “dumped garbage” into Iowa. Davis is particularly critical of a Romney TV ad that features Obama out-of-context, citing a quote from the 2008 campaign in which he referred to John McCain’s view of the economy.

“This is disgusting on both sides,” he said.

Davis said the president shouldn’t allow his supporters to suggest that Romney is in any way to blame for the woman’s death.

“President Obama owes it to the American people to repudiate this ad,” he said.

Obama campaign officials have refused to disavow the ad, claiming independence from the outside group and no knowledge of the woman’s story. Priorities USA strategists insist the ad is factually correct and will air as scheduled later this week.

"...Soptic appearead in an Obama campaign ad in May, and Cutter hosted an Obama campaign conference call around that time in which Soptic told reporters the same story as the one featured in the Priorities USA ad. Obama campaign representatives did not respond to a request for comment regarding the discrepancy between Cutter and Psaki's statements and the May advertisement and conference call, and have yet to provide an explanation to the media."

Obama campaign caught in lie over Joe Soptic, possible violation of law
 The Examiner ^ | 8/10/2012 | Joe Newby

Posted on Friday, August 10, 2012

The Obama campaign has been caught in a lie over Joe Soptic, the man in the now infamous "Romney killed my wife" ad put out by Priorities USA.

After the real timeline of events caused scrutiny of the PAC, the Obama re-election team claimed to have had no knowledge of Soptic's story.

Deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter told CNN she didn't know the facts behind Soptic's story.

“I don’t know the facts about when Mr. Soptic’s wife got sick or the facts about his health insurance,” she said.

Robert Gibbs echoed that sentiment when he told reporters on Air Force One that “we don’t have any knowledge of the story of the family.”

But an article posted Thursday at policymic.com says that Soptic was on a conference call with Cutter on May 4, 2012. ,,,,,

Cutter was originally scheduled to appear on ABC's "This Week," but Dana Loesch wrote that David Axelrod will go in her place "as it's likely Cutter would face too many question regarding her dishonesty on Soptic and the campaign's suspected coordination with Priorities USA, which seems ripe for an FEC investigation."

If that guy thinks that Mitt Romney is responsible for the death of his wife because they had no health insurance and didn't get regular checkups to save money, then who is anyone to argue with him??  He wasn't compensated or anything and he's not going to get his wife back.

Its not nice to say but its a free country...just like those who say Obama was born in Kenya and is a communist and doesn't care about people.....that's politics

You're buying this BS. Romney was LONG GONE, when this plant closed. Plus, Bain kept this plant open YEARS LONGER than it should have been.

Your claim about compensation is also BS. The guy was offered a buyout BUT REFUSED TO TAKE IT.

And, to top it all off, his wife died FIVE YEARS after the plant closed and she already had insurance from her own job.

end the superPACs.

just end them.  they nearly destroyed romney in the primaries, and now the candidates wreck each other with them.

I say let them stay. The only reason Obama is whining about them is because his aren't generating as much cash as those of Romney are.

He had no problem with campaign money, when he reneged on his agreement with McCain, regarding campaign financing. Now, that he's hurting for cash (especially with the union coffers going bare), he wants to blubber about PACs.

Romney first national political ad was a flat out lie

He can piss and moan all he wants but he set the tone for the election with his first ad

It's just more sauce for the gander

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2012/08/10/star_of_obama_super_pacs_cancer_ad_says_bain_offered_him_a_buyout.html

In a January 10, 2012 interview with Amy Goodman of "Democracy Now!" the anti-Romney steel plant employee revealed he was offered a buyout when Bain decided to close the plant. Joe Soptic, the employee, has been in the news as of late due to an ad he made for the Obama-backed Super PAC Priorities USA. In the ad, Mr. Soptic says his wife died of cancer because he was laid off and no longer had health insurance.

However, not mentioned in the ad is that his wife found out she had cancer nearly five years after his departure from the plant. She died 22 days after her diagnosis. Transcript below.

AMY GOODMAN: Joining us now from Kansas City is Joe Soptic, former steelworker at Worldwide Grinding Systems, who has lost his job after a declared bankruptcy under Bain’s control. He’s speaking to us from Kansas City’s PBS station KCPT. Joe, explain what happened.

JOE SOPTIC: Well, I guess the first thing I noticed after the company was bought out by GST, they became very union-non-friendly. I mean, they started looking for ways to eliminate jobs. In my case, in my department, they actually offered to buy our jobs out from underneath us. They cut back on safety equipment. You know, the working environment just wasn’t as good as it should be.

Before superPacs, it was more transparent 527s that did this dirty work.  We knew who they were, who donated, their coordination, etc.  They couldn't get too dirty.

superPACs were created to allow a select few to donate huge amounts secretly to put lies out there.

SuperPACs are why mitt is in such shitty shape right now, 33.  He had to continue past iowa/NH/SC for over a month, taking horrible extreme positions to fend off batshit santorum and newt... now moderates see those positions and shake their head... and when he gets to debates, you'll really see the damages that superPACs do.  All those quotes will be in the form of questions.  "Gov ROmney, on march 25th, you stated...."

oh brother, he's going to be doing that awkward fake laugh then trying to play nice on both sides of all of those controversial issues.  Wait and see.  That's where the true superPAC damage will be done, on the national stage.
