1.Washington (helped us win our independence, and was the very first pres.)

2.Lincoln (helped end slavery, made some of the toughest decisions ever)

3.Kennedy( fucked monroe, was important enough to be assassinated. (see Lincoln)

you might think so. i dont.

i guess it really comes down to whether or not you believe government can be a positive force in the world.

if you think less government is better because government is inherenly bad, then youll prefer reagan.

if you think more good government is better because government can be a good thing, then youll prefer obama.

based on the history of the world, and on my optimistic ideals, i do think government can be and has been a very positive force.. albeit when abused it can also be a very damaging force as well.

but then the question arrves in my mind.. who shall we let make the decisions? the wealthy and powerful, or the people?

and that is why i support democracy, and strongly encourage my fellow man to vote for people policies and programs that make positive changes.

such as taxation to fund social services.
and regulations to prohibit oppressive and damaging practices.

assuming you are truly a liberal/progressive as you have claimed to be in the past..

the fat of the matter if there are always very vocal and adament detractors that try to tarnish the reputation of anyone who ever achieves anything of great value. usually there is a bit of truth in their words, as nobody is an angel.. but most often time the detractor is a self pitying attention whore looking for sympathy and to be viewed as victimized and "better than" the person he detracts from..

this is not to say your man up there is lying.. but its to say.. why simply take him at his word??

i dont know anything about kennedy except for what is public information.. never met the man.. so im going to side with the abundance of information on the subject.. not a minority opinion that contradicts the consensus..

Kennedy was not a very good President. Its the image people are in love with and the mythology that surrounded him. Kennedy knew this full well as did his father.

I`m not sure where I`d rank James K. Polk, but there is no denying that he was the most effective President in History. There is nothing he failed to accomplish that he set out to do.
