GNC Show of Strength, why was it cancelled?

This was a pretty big show, and had some good sized prize money... Instead of having a ton of smaller shows, why not try and get this back with a few more of the smaller shows...The Phoenix show was cancelled. Knock off three shows and have the GNC back.
Did it take too much to run, was it the prize money, what was the deal?

Some ppl think fewer shows is better for ths sport.  Do we have 4 super shows each year, or 2 super shows and 7 average shows?

From what i remember they wanted to offer more prize money then the olympia and the powers that be wasn't having it.

lol...they can replace the Hummer with an Escalade.....wasn't the Olympia used to offer and escalade in the past?

And so they stagnate the bbing world. If a Corp like GNC comes along and has a show that offers more money, then the Weider/IFBB powers that be need to step up and offer more. Unless they were trying to say that GNC needs to apply said dollars to the MR. O.

If this is true, then the IFBB's "powers that be" need to check it's ego, and stop effing things up for the bbers and the fans.

Consolidate, less is more in bodybuilding.  I'm not even sure we need an Olympia every year.  Has anything changed from last year other than Jay is gone?  Maybe 3 big shows each year and top two qualify for the Olympia which happens every other year.
