I do not understand how someone can say a calorie is a calorie
. There are empty calories and calories that are nutrient dense.
1 gram of protein yields 4 calories
1 gram of carbohydrate yields 4 calories
1 gram of fat yields 9 calories
1 gram of alcohol yields 7 calories
So if you were to only drink alcohol and eat doritos, you could maintain your weight for a little bit, but the lack of vitimans and minerals that you get from nutrient dense foods would eventully take its toll.
