well it a modern day cival rights issue it seems. I think getting married serves the purpose of having kids and all that but there are also allot of tax reasons and benefits. I have a friend whos been with the same guy for 25 years he has a great job but his significant other does not. And since the passsing of gay marriage his company no longer includes dependant or common law so he HAS to marry him and he doesnt want to. I think less gay people are really thrilled about this marriage thing then people think.
The whole marriage thing is about money, the politicians don't care, they want the money that comes with the marriages. Think of how much a marriage license costs, per county. Think of the money spent on weddings, catering, etc. It's kinda like how red light cameras generate money. In a bad economy, politicians are looking for every way to make money...
On a person to person level, I don't give a damn about a person's sexuality. The thing is, people wheher it be gay or straight, want to make it an ISSUE. Horray, you are gay, now did the world stop? No, it didn't
...To me it seems it's another spin off of the "me, me, notice me" mentality that people have today.
