It was a superb result for Team GB but I hate to say, this will never be replicated again so we have to enjoy it while it lasts. There were many factors affecting why GB won so many medals and other countries didn't.
A lot of our gold-medal winning athletes won't be in Rio 2016 as they'll retire and move on. Also, the organisers brought in a few events into the Olympics specifically to help the British athletes, like the K1 Kayak, women's boxing, and omnium cycling.
Finally, other countries like Australia and France had made a lot of cutbacks in their sports funding due to the current economic climate whereas Britain had ramped theirs up because they were the host country. Our hypocritical government will not provide the same funding for Rio, even though they've said they will - if you look at the small print, they've only guaranteed it for the next two years.
Team GB will flop big-time in Rio.
