Approval of Congress falls to all-time low
« on: August 15, 2012, 02:40:40 AM »
I'm guessing the number of Americans could be 100% against the job Congress is doing and we still wouldn't do anything about it.

 ::)

Just 10 percent of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing, according to a Gallup poll released Tuesday, tying the lowest mark in the 38 years the poll has been conducted.

That number was previously reached this past February, but bounced back a bit in subsequent months.

Eighty-three percent of Americans disapprove of Congress, the poll shows.

Gallup says Congress' approval rating is down among all political groups and is nearly the same among Democrats, Republicans and independents.

Approval of Congress hasn't topped 20 percent since June 2011, according to Gallup.

Why are Congress' ratings so low? Gallup suggests the struggling economy and divided control of Congress, with a Republican majority in the House and a Democratic majority in the Senate, may be factors.

It may also have something to do with the fact that Congress is on pace, according to USA Today, "to make history with the least productive legislative year in the post World War II era."

Of the 3,914 bills that have been introduced in Congress so far this year, just 61 have become law — less than 2 percent.

Well that's sort of a good thing, less laws passed.  It's not like we need more.

You know why they get this low of an approval rating without them being gone?  Because we were supposed to be the check against shit like this.  When politicians went wrong, we are the check on that.  We were to vote them out when it went bad.  But now it's a whole different game where the people have cleverly been removed from having that choice.  Our founding fathers probably didn't anticipate future corruption that would so absolutely dominate to the point that a few would get their way no matter who holds office.

That is a good thing with these fucking clowns.  I just read an article that said these guys have done a record nothing that couldn't be matched since WWII.  Good.  I don't want legisation from these fools...  They worry the fuck out of us all at this point.  We have no faith in what they do at all.

But that's not what this article is about.  I would have posted that if that's what I wanted this thread to be about.

Low approval ratings don't mean they can't pass laws.  They can go balls to the wall passing stupid shit.  Why have these guys been at such low approval and yet stay the same bullshit course?  It's fucking clear Americans are demanding a different course than the one the fucking bankers and corporate assholes have bought congress to feed us.  Yet they are cozy doing the same shit over and over as 90% of the people say fuck you.

Something is seriously broke.

It's really just shuffling papers by a bunch of incompetent bottom feeders.

Congressional "Leadership"

-Nancy Pelosi
-Harry Reid
-Mitch McConnell
-John Boehner

All bad and incompetent. The R's get the House and give a leadership position to a clown.

Does anyone really believe these fools no anything about economics? Entitlements? Defense? Not a chance. I would be that the majority likes the limelight, likes the power, likes the money and likes being called "Congressman"....leading this great nation and solving problems is very low on their list, if it's on the list at all.

Let's face it, Congress is a career and a job, not a public service anymore.

Let's face it, Congress is a career and a job. It gets you good tables at a restaurant, it gets you on TV, it gets you a cushy high paying lobbying job when you retire or get booted out, it gets you access and on TV.

Term limits, limits on lobbying etc.
