I think the numbers for Russia would have been much, much higher if you went back further. Most Kalashnikov type weapons around the world now are either old Soviet Bloc hand me downs from other countries, or cheap knockoffs from other 3rd world countries.
Seems most of the Russian stuff around the world now has been passed around more than Tara Reid on an average tuesday.
Great article on Finnish newspaper today that Kalashnikov is spreadin' like "crazy" in USA now.
