Btw, it's possible to do a tympanoplasty at home.  A great Dutch painter pioneered this DIY approach. I forget his name.

Perforated eardrum…They said it would heal naturally…but it obviously hasn’t and probably won’t because it would have by now if it was going to.  It probably needs to be surgically dealt with.

Would this tear not effect hearing?  I have excellent hearing, and I believe the ear with the tear is actually more sensitive to sound than the other ear. 

Why did these mother fucking doctors keep thinking it would heal on its own?

Actually, the time I went to Urgent Care the doctor didn't even notice a tear or hole until I mentioned it.

You have excellent hearing because the numerous lengthy hairs growing on your earlobe act as antennae and help you detect sounds that most (non-hairy) humans can't hear.  Your ability to voluntarily cock/realign the direction in which your ears are pointing and their largeness and conical shape also help.  However, with great power comes great pain and so your woes (ask any german shepherd that got water in his ears what a miserable experience it is).
