Obviously a huge typo - trying to promote the new 2012 Olympia with a picture of the 2011 Figure Olympia winner, but no one actually proofread and verified the actual date. Wow. Major embarrassment for the proof reader and fact checker.
This went into production about 1 1/2 months ago, and the story was probably written before that, but still, a year is a year.
Funny thing, they have a 50% chance of being right (unless Erin Stern comes back from 2nd place and wins it all, or someone else comes in most excellent shape). You never know what may happen.

Since this is published, they just need to print an apology, and acknowledge the error. Simple as that. And get a new proof reader / fact checker for the future.
