That is wronger than wrong.  What's next, a pole dancing "semenar" with Kai Green?  Take us back to the 70s right now.  Or at least to the 80s.

Do these fools think they are going to make a living doing this?

Men's Physique Division competitors are a lot more hardcore than you think, except they don't go crazy with the muscularity, but maintain symmetry.  These pics are from two weeks ago here in Culver City at the IFBB OC Classic.  Some of these guys seriously train with heavy weights.

The problem is that when they get on stage, they have no clue what to do.  Some put their hands up, laugh, look around.  A simple 3 or 4 poses is what you need to do, simple, respectful and direct.  That is what the Men's Physique Seminar was supposed to do.

Whether you like the division or not, these guys are in shape, and body build, but obviously not bodybuilders.

NPC MEN’S PHYSIQUE DIVISION
http://npcnewsonline.com/npc-mens-physique-rules-regulations/

NPC MEMBERSHIP
■Each competitor must be a member of the NPC.
Judging Criteria:

•Muscularity and Body Condition

Judges will be looking for fit contestants who display proper shape and symmetry combined with muscularity and overall condition. This is not a bodybuilding contest so extreme muscularity should be marked down.

•Stage Presence and Personality

Contestants will be asked to walk in board shorts (shorts must be just above the knee in length and can be one inch below the belly button, no spandex and no logos are permitted on the board shorts however a manufacturer’s logo such as Nike symbol or Billabongs are acceptable.) Competitors will enter the stage without a shirt and barefoot. No lewd acts allowed for example the moon pose. Judges are looking for the contestant with the best stage presence and poise who can successfully convey his personality to the audience.

COMPETITION JUDGING

Presentation:

• Competitors will walk to the center of the stage alone and perform front and back turns with optional pose of hand on hip or hand in pocket, finishing facing the judges as directed then proceed to the side of the stage.

Comparison Round:

• The competitors will be brought back out in a group and directed to do turns.

• Judges will have the opportunity to compare competitors against each other in turns.

Promoters can choose to have one height class, two height classes, three height classes or four height classes.

For contests with two height classes:

•Up to & including 5’8”

•Over 5’8”

For contests with three height classes:

•Up to & including 5’7”

•Over 5’7” up to including 5’10”

•Over 5’10”

For contests with four height classes:

•Up to & including 5’6”

•Over 5’6” up to including 5’8”

•Over 5’8” up to including 5’10”

•Over 5’10”

National level contests do not permit competitors to crossover into Bodybuilding.  All other competitions are permitted to have crossovers at the discretion of the promoter with the district chairperson’s approval.

Who Qualifies for National Level Men’s Physique Competitions:

■For 2012, the top three (3) in a national qualifying Men’s Physique contest will be qualified for the NPC USA and NPC National Championships.  The top five (5) will qualify for all other national contests including the NPC Junior USA, NPC Junior National, NPC Team Universe and IFBB North American Championships. At a non-qualifying contest, no athletes are qualified for a national contest.
■One-year qualification for the top five (5) places in each class at national-level contests previously listed.

Apparently not!  Lol!!!  Seems that no back training nor leg training is allowed.

Should just be called the "Arms & Abs" division.....?

MPD and WPD, along with bikini is a joke. The NPC needed a cash cow and they found it. I can go to Clearwater Beach during sprin break and find 10 girls that could get a pro bikini card.

WPD is bbing "lite". Why not just have a drug tested class? If the women dont want to be on a ton of gear, drug tested classes should be an option. The judging is all over the place.

Do you honestly think that these guys just train their lower legs but not their upper legs.  These guys are in shape, upper legs and all.

Hint.  It's the "board shorts".  They tend to "hide" the thigh muscles, ergo his question is somewhat valid.  They would be better off wearing traditional posing trunks from the 40s through the 80s.  Thongs are stupid and board shorts are lame.  Trendy lame.

You would of done well is this division Grant - back in the day you had a more "appealing" physique along the lines of Mike o'hearn and Christian Bovering - the so called more "natural" look though you were/are on everything the real big boys were on.

Do you honestly think that these guys just train their lower legs but not their upper legs.  These guys are in shape, upper legs and all.

Agreed - they look awesome - this guy here blows anything away that is presented to us on the O stage.. Sure they use drugs but they train and diet hard.
