Jay Cutler to compete in the 2013 Arnold Classic
« on: August 27, 2012, 09:42:31 PM »

With Jay Cutler unable to beat Phil Heath and not even training for the 2012 Olympia, rumors are springing up that Jay Cutler is considering a run for the 2013 Arnold Classic.  What better way to cap off your career with a win at the 25th anniversary of the event.

Can Jay do it? Can he get back into the freaky refrigerator form that will mobilize him to the top?

He will.

I dont think he will.   I predicted he was done competing the night he lost the O to Phil Heath in 2011.

I'm sure we will never see Jay on a BBing stage again.  It'd be awesome to see it, to be sure.  But I think he will do what Ronnie did - just talk about a comeback at the next big show the following year, and never get back onstage.

He's proven everything he could possibly prove - that many #1 and #2 Olympia slots, the Arnold wins...  Jay is among the best BBers ever.  No need to try to get back into shape after 18 months, to push his body with the likes of these youngins.

I think he's retired.  We just don't know it yet.  Just my opinion!

I definitely agree with this. It certainly helps keep people interested, including sponsors though.

He's come back before though.  Also it depends on who is in the lineup for the AC.

unforutunatly Jay time has been and gone. This happened with ronnie, he was going to have a come back each year but never did. Jay will be the same. Its keeping the finger in the pie as long as possible and trying to off load T-shirts products etc for as long as he can, and who can blame him make hay while the sun shines.

Must be hard going from the best in the scene to not competing again. Its not like social football where you can age with a bit of grace.  :'(

Never say never.  The 2013 Arnold might just call his name.

Next year he turns 40.  Will the $100,000 prize at the 2013 Masters Olympia entice him to compete....

The masters olympia could be more exciting if Cormier, Dexter, levrone, Ronnie, and jay all compete. Maybe add Shawn ray and it's somewhat the 90's again

Might very well be the case. I doubt he comes back after sitting down this years Olympia. Doubt he even has the motivation anymore.

End of an era.

No way any $100k paycheck would be worth it to Jay to come back.   No way.

He's making a lot more than that - staying healthy - and keeping his legacy intact.  His marketability drops significantly with a 4th place Arnold finish or 2nd at the Masters.

I'm saying never.  He will make a million bucks a year training arms and smiling at expos, running 1-2 supplement company enterprises, and endorsing every mouthpiece, workout glove, and DJ mix cd that comes his way.  With 18 months off the stage, and him coming up toward 40, maybe he can't beat an Evan or a kai anymore.  And why bother?  ANy talk of a comeback is just hype, period.

Jay could hop in the Masters as well next year and collect a nice payday

Ronnie was forced to leave because of injury, otherwide he'd still be onstage somewhere.  Jay is different because he actually could get onstage and look similar to his old self, assuming the biceps is ok.  Jay seems to have lost all his drive though, so it's a slim chance we'll see him again.

He knows a show and a possible gift win would resurrect his image and with that, his business and legacy.  I dont think he actually wants to compete, but I do think he thinks he needs to.

Jay would be a fool to get back on stage.

His body just doesn't respond to the gear as it once did. Not only that, his physique is losing symmetry and thickening in all the wrong places.

He'd only be tarnishing his reputation.
