1. I don't think 'nervousness around homosexuals' is a good proxy for homophobia (in the standard sense of the term) at all: some men are very nervous around beautiful women, but this doesn't in itself mean they have negative attitudes or feelings towards beautiful women. This invalidates the conclusion of the research as far as I can tell (since the conclusion is about 'homophobia' in the standard sense).

2. Putting methodological issues on ice, all I said was that emotions of a specific sort can ('can' was the operative word of my post) interfere with a man's ability to get an erection -- it isn't necessarily just a mechanical, physical reaction as B-slut implied. Thus, we can accept that some men actually get aroused more in-spite of such emotions and what I said will remain unaffected.
