Meh I`m 25 and it`s pretty much a fact a heart attack is just around the corner. I eat so much shit food for over a decade. I`m 6 4 with some heart trouble in my family, I either gotta start eating clean or I`m fucked. Scary though when you actually here of this shit happening.

Thanks for the replies guys.He wasnt a bodybuilder, didnt use drugs, had ran marathons.

You should have steered him away from marathons and towards bodybuilding.  He would still be alive today, even with drugs.  I don't get marathon running at all.  All that work just to be a skinny runt.  I too lost my good friend last year.  We worked together two months earlier and was fine.  All  in all I guess the best way to die is to never see it coming.

Sorry about the loss.  It's never easy but it's definitely hard to get a grip on when the person is young and it occurs unexpectedly.  Found my best friend / occasional lifting partner lying dead on his couch a year a half ago and I still think it's just a bad dream some days.

Sometimes its unavoidable in the sense of genetics. Some people are so predisposed to a certain disorder that just about nothing will prevent it. Its almost inevitable. I know there is genetic testing that could show how susceptible in terms of percent of having or experiencing certain ailments. I would never want that done. Too scary. But it just goes to show how much we are controlled by our genetics.

I ran some races, still do the smaller ones(10k) and I saw a guy collapse at the Turkey Trot on thanksgiving a few years back. A few years ago a 23 year old died running the half marathon. You'd think in good health shit like that wouldn't happen, but it does. Sorry to hear about your boy.
