The best sounding live rock band in the world
« on: September 02, 2012, 08:54:10 AM »
There's only one Def Leppard and Phil Collen has the best physique of any rock star in the word today.

Def Leppard - Undefeated (Live, Cleveland Ohio 2012):

Love Def Leppard but I prefer their earlier stuff - Pyromania, Hysteria, and the Adrenalize albums. Retroactive wasn't too bad either. Would love to see them in concert but it's one of those things in life I've never got round to.

Saw them freshman year in college, and Joan Jett opened for them. This was back in 2000. Can't really remember it, we downed a case of 22's on the way.

OH I don't know. Its all pretty subjective. For real quality and sounding like, or better, than the albums I'd have to go with the Eagles or CSN&Y. Much depends on the venue though

Phil's a twink, Danny Joe (Molly Hatchet) would crush him (if he wasn't dead)  ;D

Then there's ManOwaR who like to lift...

(They take a separate truck full of weights and machines when they hit the road)..

But ManOwaR don't count 'cause their music is shit. I traded in their one album in my collection years ago. "Wimps and posers, leave the hall". LOL

Good to see Def Leppard getting some love. One of my workmates hails them as the best live band he's seen. Rates them above Iron Maiden and AC/DC in those terms.

Personally i've seen a fair few of the greats. AC/DC, KISS, Metallica, Motorhead, Black Sabbath and a good few of the decent modern bands and for me Mastodon have been tops. Flawless playing, great sound well worth the ticket price. (even though i've always seen them for free).

I'm going to see Alice Cooper on Halloween, i expect to be entertained.

Yeah, Leppard has sucked ass for decades. What a joke.

Another group of major suckage is Bon Jovi. They were showing a concert on TV last night on some channel and I couldn't believe how lame, boring and vanilla that band has become. Richie looks like shit (and his playing was mediocre) and Jon, with his extending-hand move, looks like a total tosser.

Going to see  Def Leppard w/Poison and Lita Ford tomorrow. I've seen them a few times and it's a good show. Certainly nothing spectacular but not a bad Tuesday evening.

Worst sounding live band... Molly Hatchet. Loved the band growing up, got a chance to see them in a local bar setting about 15 yrs ago. The sound man was horrible. It was so loud you could not make out the vocals, very painful to listen to. As much as I loved the group, ended up leaving after 30 minutes of garbled noise.

Bon jovi are not total suck they suck but there are factors you can argue on. All def leopard got are the singing skills of a boy band hardly reason to justify all the other shit they got.

Everyone knows that Bon Jovi stole Def Leppard's sound in the 80s. Even Jon Bon Jovi has admitted it in interviews. And now with the likes of Lady Gaga admitting to being heavily influenced by Def Leppard, is it any wonder you speak badly of them? To say that all they've got are the singing skills of a boy band is a joke. They write all their own music and are considered by many to be the greatest live band in the world. Their total worldwide album sales recently exceeded the 100 million mark something very few bands achieve. What success have you ever had? I suspect very little. ;D
