No game is as good as they want to make it sound and believe in their trailers... and I worked over 4 years in the games industry!

hahahah exactly!!!!

I cannot tell you how many games my team tested were in meetings we saw the first trailer (before the public of course) and we went fucking apeshit over it and got so horribly disappointed.
Than we had games nobody gave a shit about which blew us away, like Riddick on Xbox was one of them - low level managment meeting no big fuss and the GAME IS ACE!!!
Than you have shit and bells on a game like Larry and it SUCKED TO HIGH HEAVEN!!

Even more shocking is that Xbox 360 was released in 2005, and Playstation 3 in 2006... you'd think BY NOW something more powerful and far more intricate would have been released...

I'm not a big gamer but even I know not to believe what you see in trailers.  Most game trailers are filled with non-game play footage which doesn't indicate at all what actual game play is like.

You do realize what game this right?

MGS has always set the standards in video games.

The only downfall of these games were the long cut scenes, but Kojima says they're at a minimum this time (I imagine since it'll be on Xbox).

Skip to 9:20 of the video to see high quality game play footage.

Here's a lower quality video footage.

Natural movements has always been a bigger problem rather than realistic graphics and it looks like they have done a pretty good job with that.

It's the whole point of a console that a new one doesn't come out every year. PC is for constant upgrades.

That's what I don't get.  Isn't it just a matter of doubling the size of the processors, memory, etc...?

People wouldn't mind the machine being a little bit larger, or a little bit more expensive.

Doubling the processing power etc, dont matter, your eyes are only so good, and the bottle neck is the controller. Until motion tech takes over there wont be a jump in gaming level for a few more years.
The jump in graphics technology in the 90s was huge but pretty much dropped off the face of the earth by 2000.

no... on all counts.  motion control is a dead end -- a "virtual reality" is the right direction.  graphical innovations are huge to anyone who's been paying attention.

The new MGS will be a huge seller... The new Xbox is already in the hands of developers.

There will not be a new PS3 until 2014 at the earliest I believe.
