I just try my first diet in my life
« on: November 19, 2005, 04:31:23 AM »
Hi everyone!!!

I'm new on this forum, so before all i just want to say hi to you people and hope you all goes well !!! ;D

I made my first diet of my life, i want to know if i did i ok or totally wrong.  So i post my diet and say me if there anything to correct please :)

It for cutting by the way,

First i use for rule my Lean body mass multiply with 15 for a cutting diet, so that gave me: 150 X 15 = 2250 calories, so, with the 40/40/20 %,  i go with 225g of protein, 225 g of carb and 50g of fat, and that gave me that number.

My breakfast: 6 a.m.

8 egg whites
1/2 banana
1 slice of whole wheat bread
1 table spoon of natural peanut butter
Total: 353 cal / 40 pros/ 31 carbs / 10 fats

Snack: 9 a.m.

Protein scoop powder
1/4 raisins
1 table spoon of natural peanut butter
Total: 361 cal/ 38 pros / 34 carbs / 9 fats

Diner: 12h

1 canned light tuna
1 cup of vegetable juice
1/3 dry macaroni
1 tea spoon flaxseed
Total : 357 cal / 32 pros/ 40 carbs / 10 fats

Snack 2 : 3 p.m.

Protein scoop powder
1/4 raisins
1 table spoon of natural peanut butter
Total: 361 cal/ 38 pros / 34 carbs / 9 fats

Souper: 6 p.m.

1/2 cup extra lean ground beaf
2 carrots
1/4 cup dry brown rice
Total: 363 cals / 34 pros / 37 carbs / 9 fats

Snack 3: 9 p.m.

Protein scoop powder
1/4 raisins
1 table spoon of natural peanut butter
Total: 361 cal/ 38 pros / 34 carbs / 9 fats

For a big total of : 2156 calories / 220g pros / 210 g of carbs / 54 g of fats

And with that, i train five time a week, doing maybe 3-4 hours of cardio a week.  Should i replace some fat with more flaxseed? Reduce Carb intake? Or do i simply do it all wrong?

Thanks to take the time to correct me :)

Have a good day!!! ;D

Your diet plan looks pretty good.  The biggest thing to keep in mind is that you need to be in a caloric deficit to lose bodyfat.  So, as long as the caloric intake on this diet is less than your maintenance intake, you'll do well.  And remember you'll have to adjust it as you go along as your bodyweight drops.

If your trying to build muscle or maintain it !!
I would highly recommend to increase protein

Since your cutting, I would recommend that you try and derive the majority of the carbs you eat everyday from complex sources.

The banana in your first meal is fine, but you should cut out the 3/4 c of raisins that you consume of the course of the day.

Off the top of my head, I believe 1/4 cup raisins has 33 g of carbs, 32 of which are sugar.

96 g of sugar a day is a lot for cutting, and even for bulking; that is unless you are Dexter Jackson are related!

No flame intended; I would just like to see you increase the amount of complex carbs you eat to replace the 96 g of sugar that the raisins are providing in your diet.

Additionally, if you can, I would recommend replacing the whole wheat bread you eat at your first meal with oatmeal, preferably the steel cut type (sc oats has more fiber because of the way that they are cut comparitively to 'normal' rolled oats).

Definitely get rid of the raisins unless its post workout.

An alternative would be sources like eating oatmeal porridge with skim milk in the morning.

Don't buy instant oats, the shit that Quaker put out, often has sugar in it, or is processed. You want the raw version.

Nuke it in the microwave with some water for 90 secs, stir it up and nuke for 90 some more secs. Eat with skim milk and have some diet version jam (no sugar) added to it, or some splenda.

Great way to get good carbs and the best fcuking breakfast I know of.

Agree, but i would also say they're ok at breakfast too.  I would recommend maybe bumping up calories by 600 a day (depending on your size, i guess) so you have somewhere to go with your diet.  Or, maintain your diet as it is now and begin doing cardio.  Essentially, you don't want your calories to drop any lower than they are now, and you'll need some way to break a plateau should you reach one.  Otherwise, looks good.

if you weigh 150 ...you should stop dieting and start taking in twice that amount of calories, and cut your cardio per week in half(if any at all)

bulk,THEN cut. not the other way around.

Why that? Too much fat in my diet?  Should replace it with something else?

Thank !

As Blake said Calories in < calories out........

Incorporate a good exercise regime inlcuding weights and some type of Cardio at 30 minute intervals and you are set.....

Also remember do not gauge yourself by a scale alone. A belt is one of the best measures of weight loss or certain clothes
