What was unique about Shawn was that he had all the technical chops one could ask for (e.g., he was perhaps the best shredder on the planet if we consider "best" to be a combination of accuracy and speed) yet was first and foremost a composer. This separates him from at least some of the more popular guitar virtuosos who seem to be all about the chops and not just the music.

That's all I'll say on the matter, as I simply wanted to point people towards a great musician. I encourage everyone who reads the thread to put the more popular guitar compositions -- the stuff everybody and their mother knows (e..g, van Halen, Slash) -- on ice for a bit and give this guy a try; I doubt you'll regret it.
