I know I will take some stick for this, but my three favourite gigs of all time are:

1. Def Leppard - 3 continents in one day gig, The Bottom Line Club, Shepherds Bush, London, October 1995. The band made it into the Guinness Book of Records for the fastest ever world tour (a record that still stands to this day I believe.)

2. Def Leppard - Tower Records store, Piccadilly, London, November 1996. An exclusive fan club members only gig.

3. Def Leppard - Songs From The Sparkle Lounge album launch party/gig, Islington Academy, Islington, London, May 2008. Without knowing I was captured cheering on their first ever live album entitled Mirror Ball - Live & More.

Note: The gig they played in London last December with Motley Crue was probably the best sounding concert I have ever attended.

Slayer in 1994 - although I have to admit that seeing a band like Slayer in Vienna is kinda like Mozart in Brooklyn.
Would have preferred seeing them in the states because for me rough Metal is all American.

They played "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" with Eric Clapton, Slash, Axl and the dude from Blind Melon.
This was very epic for a 13 year old into Rock 'n Roll.

Saw Pink Floyd in '94.

Saw Radiohead this year.

Am seeing Peter Gabriel, the Patron Saint of Rock 'n Roll this month.

Any one of several Slayer concerts, not the biggest fan of their albums, but their live show is kick ass.
Lamb of God had a pretty good show.
Killswitch Engage sounds amazing live, too bad most of their shit after the 1st album has gone downhill.
Children Of Bodom puts on an amazing show, although sometimes theyre so drunk that I'm not sure how they play what they do.

Best ever: Tool, in Ottawa Ontario, in a press box. I was high as a kite, and when Parabola came on, I looked down on the floor and people were swarming in what looked like a giant vortex. Trippiest, coolest, best band I've ever seen play live. They are so tight, it's ridiculous.

I have three selfish "Make a Wish" wishes if I die:

1. play drums for Tool during a show alongside Danny Carey
2. get to do batting practice at Fenway
3. find out what really went on at the Ice Machine. It's like bodybuilding's version of the shooting of JFK.

Metallica in '86 or early '87 during the Master tour. A small 2000 seat club with Metal Church opening.

Venom, Slayer and Labyrinth ( a local band ) in a small club here in '84 or '85 was pretty killer as well.

If I had to pick another, I'd probably say DLR on the Eat'em and Smile tour. I despise DLR as a musician but Sheehan and Vai had to be seen.

Al DiMeola on the World Sinfonia Tour was amazing as well.
