All his records have long been broken. If he were to compete in prime form in powerlifting and strongman today would he stand out like he did in the 80's?

He totaled over #2400 with none of the new gear they have today, so yes, he'd still be a force on the powerlifting scene.

He'd have a much harder time in strongman though. The field is much bigger now, most of the athletes are larger now, and they're training much more event specific than they use too.

That pec tearin the bar bend really hurt him too. He never fully recovered from it.

I haven't seen anymore of that incident other than what was posted, and I think the fellow that made the film doesn't have any more than that.

The fellow being yelled at is another strongman from Britain that was semi-famous years back, whoses name escapes me. He was claiming to be the strongest man in the World and mentioned Kazmaier, so when Kazmaier was in europe for a power meet, he found the guy and bitched him out.

Records have "long been broken"?? His raw PL numbers are still not far off what the current records are.

- He is wearing a "suit" for the squats, bench and DL were raw.

Guy was massively strong. If he was still in his prime today with the access athletes now have to strongman equipment, no doubt in my mind he'd still be winning titles. A true legend.

I've met him and he was very cool with me. Maybe you met him on a bad day. We all have 'em. (For what it's worth, my good friend lived not too far from him several years ago and would see him frequently out and about. Says he was always nice to him, too.)

Anyway ...

Bill is my all-time fave strong man. His powerlifting feats, in my opinion, have yet to be bettered, when factoring in his minimal use of gear and the manner in which he performed his lifts. CRAZY strong.

And one of the true pioneers and great champions of strongman.

The man was born to be a freak of size and strength.

No, I mean SUPPORT gear, not drug gear.
