Needed to drop out for fear of the powers that be would give him the title once again and the crowd would riot hurting half the crowd (10-15 people). Great humanitarian looking out for the fans and not financial gain

LOL, and if this dropping out trend continues most of the top guys won't be there this year.
The reality MIGHT , (again MIGHT) be that the drug use required now is so extreme  , very few pros can withstand it?
Hard to keep your body functional and be able to train when you have to use crap that may be dangerous?

I would be thrilled if it was Jose or David Henry, but LOOK at freaking Correa. I mean if you're going to pick a winner ahead of time, haha, this might just be the guy to pick.

Kevin English, 3x Olympia 202 Showdown Champion, has formally announced that he will not be competing in the 2012 Olympia 212 Showdown. Citing an injury that has plagued him for years and recently gotten worse, English stated:

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I will not be competing in the 2012 Olympia 212 Showdown.
Beyond my control = I have no more money to support my habit

I’ve always had problems with my knees due to years of wrestling. I have no cartilage, just bone on bone. When I was dieting for the New York Pro, my body was often dehydrated and depleted which lessened the cushioning between my joints.
News Flash : lifting, carrying, and wrestling schmoes is bad for your health.  Many major health insurance carriers are dropping BBers because of this.  His body was dehydrated from what?  Blowing his load on a schmoe??

During a leg workout a few weeks after the show, I felt a really sharp pain when squatting. I immediately put the weight down. My training partner and physical therapist, Dr. Michael Camp, was there to provide immediate assistance.
Yes, I am sure Mr. Camp knows how to provide that immediate assistance of a prostate massage there Kev ol' boy

I trained lighter over the next few weeks and the pain was bearable, but still there. The injury eventually progressed into a partial patella tendon tear, so we began the rehab process without giving up on the Olympia.
Progressed into.   ::)  STFU

This weekend, Dr. Camp and I decided that training for the Olympia Showdown was counterproductive to the healing process. I would not be able to do both effectively; therefore, I am talking time off to heal, with the support of my therapist, MetRx, MD, and nutritionist Fakhri Mubarak.
Therapist?  Why not name him like you did your "nutritionist".  Oh wait, your psych doctor...sorry.

I would like to thank everyone the continued support. I AM NOT RETIRED.  We are already looking at shows for 2013. I will still be at the 2012 Olympia, working the Met-Rx booth and excited to see the show and the greatest fans in the world.
Thank god you aren't "retired".  Don't know what I would do if you did that.  I am sure there would be some sort of ceremony or something.  God knows how important a bodybuilder is.  What would your dealer do if you decided to quit buying shit now??

English won the Olympia 202 Showdown title the last three years and was among the favorites going in to this year’s competition. The door is now open to crown a new champion…check back to MD for all the breaking OLYMPIA WEEKEND news!
I am calling in sick to work just to keep checking MD for updates

He actually does train with his P.T.
The other gentleman I don't know of.
His last couple of wins where close and debatable, but, that is the nature of this "sport"
He conducts himself like a pro, very approachable, very polite and very impressive to see train, he is massive for his size if that makes sense.
Many pictures are here of all the competitors, not many when they are next to each other, looking at a single physique does not tell the entire story. Back in the day Ferrigno used to stand next to objects, cars etc to show how big he was, when he got next to another bodybuilder he was always taller but not always bigger or better.
Side by side is the best way to determine who looks best.
Hopefully this year's winner can compete in 2013 against English and that should make for some more interest from the fans.
By the way English will be 39 or so by then, how do most competitors look at that age after competing for 20 years?
He won the Nationals in 1994.
It is easy to be critical here, many like to try to bring down others because of their own shortcomings, to bad. I would rather congratulate him on his wins at least he has accomplished something within this "sport"

Correa has certain structural problems, ie T-Rex arms...it should be between him or Henry.
Jose is a mess, a total mess, no shape, odd size, just looks odd.

Corrrea gets shredded, but his lack of shape will hurt him. Flex has a prettier physique. And Flex is POPULAR!!!  Should have won last year

You quoted me, but I don't think you read what I said.
Side by side comparisons, not singular pics.
Being there is even better, pictures only show so much.

There are many many "gifts" for many many reasons, that is why this is not a sport, it is a pagaent.
Have you ever met any of the competitors, spoken with them, trained with them?. I am trying to understand why you sound so angry??
Take a deep breath

He conducts himself like a pro?  You mean deals to fund his own use, uses people, lies to anyone asking him about what he uses, engages in all of the other nasty shit almost all other "pros" do?

Shortcomings?  Yeah, I am not shooting so much shit in my body that I am now so psychologically addicted to it that I don't know when enough is enough.  Yeah, my measly 200mg/wk is a shortcoming.  Oh, and you're right this is not a "sport".  I have seen my share of pros train.  I have yet to be impressed with most (if not close to all) of their "intensity" in the gym.  The farther they get in this "sport" the lazier they get.

So you bought PED's from him and he lied to you and used you. What exactly is it he engages in? If you have a yes answer to the first 2-3 questions and you have seen him do "nasty shit" then speak up, if not then shut up.
You inject PED's weekly? Why would you if "pros" do nasty shit as you say? Why then take anabolics, perhaps you have the psychological issue?

Why would you taken performance enhancers and not perform on stage and be judged?? I can only hope you are on HRT otherwise why then??
I am not saying English is the end all be all, but, I have seen him squat 500lbs for reps and incline bench 315 lbs for reps both impressive for any body weight. He does train hard  I do not know who you are talking about, again you do not provide any specifics.

Kevin is more impressive in person than in pics or vids. He is SHORT but HUGE!!!  He reminds me of Lee Priest in that someone so short can have so much muscle

Actually Doc, mine are prescribed.  Thanks for asking.  I won't shut up because IFBB pro = MAJOR user = 99.99% of time dealer = will lie/cheat someone out of money.

Why do I?  My test levels were in the 300's when I went for my blood tests.  I competed for nearly 20+yrs without doing it.  Thanks again for asking. Mine is PHYSIOlogical.  Oh wait, let me guess...he doesn't take a lot because he is "genetically gifted"   ::)

Seems I struck a nerve with you?  Don't tell me you are so naive that you don't know what these guys do to support their desires to go 'far' in this activity called bodybuilding.  Do you follow him every day?  Are you aware of ALL his activities?

Don't worry Krank. The hallmarks of the bodybuilding lifestyle catch up to us all. Some can deny it longer than others, but comeuppance is a bitch and though we turn a blind eye to Lady Justice's pursuit, hers is a form of retributive justice that never tires of chasing man to balance the scales. You can't rush the metamorphosis from fan to jaded former-fan. The vicissitude will manifest in time...one need only plant the seed to watch the inevitable blossom rear its scorned head. We can then welcome him to his "wiser" years.

I legitimately am laughing.  At no point was I angry, none.  Expert?  Naw, but I have been around this whole thing long enough to get a very good idea of what this "sport" is like.  You have guys prostituting themselves off for their drug habit, guys dealing and then telling everyone how ethical and nice they are (while scamming the newbies at the gym), these same guys telling people that they have "great genetics" and thats how they got so big.  I won't even go into the what the women do.

If anything, my eyes are opened more and more with each passing day.  I am glad I am done competing.  Is it a personal thing with Kevin?  Nope.  Can you honestly tell me you haven't heard all the shit that goes on with bodybuilding nowadays?  If you have, doesn't it just make you question how low can these guys go?  This "sport" is no longer about who works the hardest, its now how has the best constitution to handle all the crap that is being thrown into a body.  Come on man...do you really hold any of these guys on a pedestal?  Even a small one?

It's cool, dude. He called me angry too! I mean as you can see, we are all absolutely furious over this thread. Just foaming at the fucking mouth, waiting for someone to say "Hey that guy Kevin might be a nice dude, and he's absoluteltoodley a fantastical bodybuilder" so we can rip out their throats. CLEARLY we're getting all worked up over it. I am actually salivating just remembering how someone defended Kevin's physique and I disagreed with a scream and a bloodbath.

...Or not. What a fucking idiot. Krank, don't respond to this moron.
