What would the motive be? If they want to attack Iran, this isn't the way to get support for that. Unless they can somehow connect Iran to this. It sure isn't prompting the success of the "Arab Spring"

Negligence could be.

Either way heads should roll
I wasn't thinking anything on this.  I just read the thread title which suggests that they knew in advance and failed in their duty.  That has two possible sides: 1. dumbshit 2. planned  I just wanted to know what 3333 thought. that's all. lol

The Obama administration is flatly denying a blaring British newspaper report that the U.S. diplomats in Libya were killed as a result of a “continuing security breach,” and that “credible information” about possible attacks had been ignored.

A U.S. official told POLITICO: “There's no intelligence indicating that the attack in Benghazi was premeditated.”

The newspaper, The Independent, plastered its cover with the headline, “Revealed: inside story of US envoy’s assassination,” and reported inside: “The killings of the US ambassador to Libya and three of his staff were likely to have been the result of a serious and continuing security breach … American officials believe the attack was planned."

The article continued: "According to senior diplomatic sources, the U.S. State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and ‘lockdown’, under which movement is severely restricted."

Shawn Turner, spokesman for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, emailed: “This is absolutely wrong. We are not aware of any actionable intelligence indicating that an attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi was planned or imminent.”

The Obama administration was caught by surprise by the ferocity of the Sept. 11 attack against the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed the ambassador and three other Americans. Now it is bracing for another potential eruption of violent demonstrations in parts of the Muslim world after Friday's weekly prayers — traditionally a time of protest in the Middle East and North Africa...

"The United States government had absolutely nothing to do with this video," [Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton] said before a meeting with the foreign minister of Morocco at the State Department. "We absolutely reject its content and message." ...

"I want people around the world to hear me," [President Barack Obama] said. "To all those who would do us harm: No act of terror will go unpunished. I will not dim the light of the values that we proudly present to the rest of the world. No act of violence shakes the resolve of the United States of America." ...

This entire debacle is analogous to the Obama administrations incompetence on all things financial.

He is surrounded by left wing academics, radicals and career politician sleeze. These are not real human beings in any sense of the word. They are not Americans. They think the whole world boils down to focus groups and hypothetical's in a classroom that can be explained in a 2 hour lecture.  Ideologues and used car snakeoil salesmen with no real world experience, no common sense, no honor, no integrity and utter disdain for America. Disgustingly hypocritical, arrogant filth that shouldn't be given the power to supervise a school crossing guard, let alone the United States.

This would be a good time for a quote along the lines of what James Mattis said to those Iraqi tribal leaders. Too bad the pussy-in-chief won't do anything of the sort.

And of course you believe it. I can't think of a time in the last four years where he didn't lie. Okay, now here's the real kicker. The marines that were guarding the consulate.were instructer.not use live  ammunition while "protecting" the consulate. Anyway you cut it this is an Obama diaster worse than any of his previous disasters.

Fox spreads a false rumor that marines were not armed at embassy.
U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo.

Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson “did not permit US Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple reports on U.S. Marine Corps blog spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any US military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.”

If true, the reports indicate that Patterson shirked her obligation to protect U.S. interests, Nightwatch states.

Then gives the you-knew-it-was-coming "update".

**UPDATE**

Further Marine spokesman at Pentagon Lt Col Chris Hughes says these reports are NOT true. This is on the record:

“The Ambassador and RSO have been completely and appropriately engaged with the security situation. No restrictions on weapons or weapons status have been imposed. This information comes from the Det Commander at AMEMB Cairo.”

Maybe if our President was attending the intelligence briefings all of this could have been avoided.

But I guess playing golf and fundraising was more important that a few human lives.

About the Right Wing Myth That Obama 'Skips Daily Intel Briefings'
Before it attacked one of our besieged embassies over a statement it released, team Romneybot tried to stir up controversy about Obama’s attendence at daily intelligence briefings.

Wash Post writer Dana Milbank explains:

About the same time, the Republican National Committee and prominent Republicans such as Dick Cheney and John McCain threw another faulty bit of plumbing at Obama: that the president ‘does not attend his daily intelligence meeting’ more than half the time, in contrast to George W. Bush, who ‘almost never missed his daily intelligence meeting.’ This claim was the work of former Bush speechwriter Marc Thiessen, who writes a weekly online column for The Washington Post.

In reality, Obama didn’t ‘attend’ these meetings, because there were no meetings to attend: The oral briefings had been mostly replaced by daily exchanges in which Obama reads the materials and poses written questions and comments to intelligence officials. This is how it was done in the Clinton administration, before Bush decided he would prefer to read less. Bush’s results — Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, and the failure to find Osama bin Laden — suggest this was not an obvious improvement.

so you wont take anything Fox says seriously but you post articles from the washington post?

about as logical as an obama supporter calling romney partisan.
