Police took Tamara Sytch, 39, of 33 Stone Ridge Lane in Branford, into custody at 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday and charged her with disorderly conduct. She was held on $500 bond and arraigned in New Haven Superior Court on Wednesday.
At 4:49 p.m. on Wednesday, police again took Sytch into custody and charged with disorderly conduct, strangulation in the third degree and violation of protective order. She was held on $25,000 bond and arraigned in New Haven Superior Court on Thursday.
At 8 p.m. on Thursday, Branford police again took Sytch into custody and charged her with violation of protective order.
She was held on $2,500 bond and arraigned in New Haven Superior Court on Friday.
Police said it is their understanding that the woman they arrested was involved in wrestling.
Sytch went by “Sunny” in the WWE. Her bikini issue of RAW Magazine sold a record number of copies, according to WWE.
WWE quotes her as saying: “My definition of a Diva is that all-around, well-rounded performer. … The girls who came before me were so one dimensional and then I came along and anything they threw at me I could do. I could get in the ring and have a match, I managed at ringside, I co-hosted TV shows, I did broadcasting, I did the modeling. I was the first one."
Her biography on the WWE Superstars Web site said she managed three teams to the World Tag Team Championship, was AOL’s “most downloaded woman of 1996,” and she is a two-rime Slammy Award winner.
According to the Online World of Wrestling, she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.
