The biggest thing I have learned without reading this thread:

#1 get together with buddies and buy in bulk directly. This means going to a chicken supplier, buying 100kg at a time and buy big. You will have to put out a crap pile of cash but you will save tens of thousands in the long run.

I am currently paying about 6 bucks a kilo for chicken that sells for 16-17 in the store. Bonless skinless chicken breast.

#2 learn to cut your meat yourself, this means buying whole sides of cow, selling what you dont want to family to cover the cost of your cow, and keeping what you want.

#3 check out the asian markets, they quite often sell rice in 50kg bags! and thats a shit pile of rice bro! but its the same price as your 2kg bag!! wow...lookout costco.

#3 watch for sales on stuff, superstore here sometimes has 2 breasts of chicken on for 8 bucks. They are only 5-6 ounce ones, but for that price its almost as good as a bulk buy.
Some times you wont need it, but buy it anyway, good sales are hard to come by.

I truly like to live by #1 though, I even buy my protein that way 25 tubs at a time. 50 bucks each for a product that retails at 80, good deal IMO. (5lb tubs)

where the hell do you live, switzerland?

8 bucks for 10-12 oz chicken is a good deal ???

50 bucks for a 5lb tub?  ever hear of bodybuilding.com? trueprotein.com?

Go to asian markets.  You can buy fish real cheap, cheaper than chicken.  You love up North so it should be easy to find cheap fish, especially salmon which gives you all the fish oils needed.

Also buy potatoes, especially soon near Thanksgiving they are dirt cheap.  Also go to stores the day after thanksgiving, you can buy Turkey at 1/2 the cheap price already.

I would mix your foods up Tbombz as it's no fun eating the same boring foods every single fucking day.  You will feel as though you are on a prep diet after a couple of months.

Das booty is correct.  I did the chicken breast and rice thing for a couple months straight.  One day it took me about 10 minutes to down one bite.  I just didn't have it in me to eat anymore chicken breast.  My body just rejected it. I never ate chicken for over a year after that.

From Costco buy some Eye of round roast, cut into steaks and freeze.  Beef keeps you looking pumped

IMO You should add some veggies to your diet, even if you have to go can.
Maybe go brown rice instead of white if you can too.
You say you know how to cook, so buy some spices and do that chicken 100 different ways.

The same thing has happened to me with boiled egg whites.  They won't go down.  I just bring them back up.

Aldi has great prices on the basics (see the Aldi Rocks thread on nut board) as does Trader Joe's on a lot of stuff.  For instance, the regular price of boneless, skinless chicken breasts at Aldi is 1.99/lb.  Fage Greek yogurt = 3.29/17.5 oz. Eggs are super cheap.  Also, basic household items like garbage bags, dish soap, etc. are cheap and just as good as what you'd get elsewhere.

I know several people that do.  You just need one of those freezers with the lid that opens.

Not that strange as far as I know.

You live in produce country.  Check out the farmer's markets!

If you're going to invest in spices, get decent stuff, not the McCormick crap at the grocery store.  Find a good spice house or ethnic food store.

I know quite a few people who do that. The practice doesn't seem as common today, and most people who take advantage of it tend to live in rural areas and know farmers, etc.

Yes, it's a good deal for the volume, but buying a whole cow means you get both the good AND bad cuts of meat; it's not as if you're buying 200 lbs of filet mignon.
