Both sides have effed this country up with their rhetoric and histronics, and they all answer to corporations. If you can make money by getting everybody hooked on government programs and the belief that the government can right the wrongs make the poor rich and the rich "less rich" (when in fact, they will be richer) they will sell the dream. If they can make money by deregulating everything, and make the poor poorer, but throw them a bone once in awhile, and the rich, richer, then they'll do it.
It's the sane outcome either way.

The Seagull will flock to a seashore or a landfill, doesn't matter. So that is the real telling part.
