The objective is to take from one and give it someone else. There thought process is that everyone has to be equal, no matter their skill level or how hard they work. The problem is some people are lazy or just plain stupid, and if you remove any incentive to "get ahead" by hard work, people will stop putting in the effort.

also too bad he simply couldn't reset the economy on day 1 of his presidency so that he didn't have to deal with massive unemployment (which costs the federal govt money) and loss of tax revenue
