MC 'Bama: "U Didn't Built That!"
« on: September 18, 2012, 02:51:29 PM »
I posted this earlier, but I figured it deserved its own thread. Since our resident kneepadders think certain statements spell doom for presidential candidates, here's a friendly reminder of how their beloved Messiah has goofed it up.

WRONG!!! At no time does Romney NOT give credit to those who actually did built that. Lefties tried to associate Romney with Obama, after the president utter that mess. But, it didn't stick.

if rush didn't say it it's not true  :D :D :D :D

Why don't you and Matthews get together and have synchronized thrills up your legs, over Obama.

You are incorrect, again.  They both said the same thing.  They said that people do not become successful without the help from:

Romney said:                               Obama said:
"your mom and dad,"                     "somebody" (i.e. anyone in your life, INCLUDING, "your mom and dad")
"your school teacher,"                    "teacher"
"the people who provide roads"        "somebody invested in roads and bridges"
"the fire and police."                       "fire service"
"investors,"                                   "government"
"banks," and
"government"

Since nobody claimed that successful people didn't have help along the way, this post of yours is plain rubbish.

There's a difference between saying that people helped you build that vs. "YOU DIDN'T BUILT THAT", which is what Obama, NOT Romney, said.

Of course, the reason why Obama and other lefties, like you, say such mess is because you think it means you're entitled to other people's money.

I don't think the Nike gave an endorsement contract to Lebron James' high school coach, or his history teacher. The Miami Heat doesn't pay the local police in James' neighborhood for James' bringing another ring to their franchise.

It is clear that you did not read, listen to, or understand Obama and Romney's speeches. Let me help you to understand.

Here is Obama's speech.  Read it in its entirety.  Notice where the statement "you didn't build that" is located.  I will make the sentences around it red, that may help you.

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help.  There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.  Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive.  Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business. you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen.  The Internet didn’t get invented on its own.  Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.  There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own.  I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service.  That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.

So we say to ourselves, ever since the founding of this country, you know what, there are some things we do better together.  That’s how we funded the GI Bill.  That’s how we created the middle class.  That’s how we built the Golden Gate Bridge or the Hoover Dam.  That’s how we invented the Internet.  That’s how we sent a man to the moon.  We rise or fall together as one nation and as one people, and that’s the reason I’m running for president – because I still believe in that idea.  You’re not on your own, we’re in this together
.”

Now, you are going to say, but Romney never said, "you didn't build that."  Okay, let's look at what Romney DID say:

There are A LOT of people in government who help us and allow us to have an economy that works and allow entrepreneurs and business leaders of various kinds to start businesses and create jobs. We all recognize that. That’s an important thing.”

Then Romney says:

"I know that you recognize A LOT OF PEOPLE helped you in that BUSINESS. Perhaps the banks. Investors. There’s no question your mom and dad, your school teacher, the people who provide roads, the fire and police."

Let's compare notes from both speeches regarding where the help/assistance comes from:

Romney said:                                Obama said:
"your mom and dad,"                        "somebody" (i.e. anyone, INCLUDING, "your mom and dad")
"your school teacher,"                      "teacher"
"the people who provide roads"      "somebody invested in roads and bridges"
"the fire and police."                         "fire service"
"investors,"                                        "government"
"banks," and
"government"

Thus, Romney didn't use the exact words "you didn't build that" in his speech.  However, the theme of Romney's speech was, you didn't build that without the help of (see the list above, almost identical to Obama's list).  Moreover, if you have read Obama's speech, you know that he was saying the same thing as Romney and "the sentence" in the middle of the paragraph conforms with the very theme that both candidates' speeches were based on.

Obama said, "YOU DIDN'T BUILT THAT!! Someone ELSE made that happen!"

That, in no way or form, is the same as someone helped you along the way. Trying to pass this foolish notion that Romney said the same thing Obama did is laughable.

Again, NOBODY CLAIMED that people didn't succeed without help. Why do you keep making this ridiculous claim?

And the whole point of Obama, talking that mess, is the left's obsession with feeling they're entitled to someone else's money.

Again, as you can see...they are BOTH making that same claim.

Romney is NOT, I repeat, NOT stating that "YOU DIDN'T BUILT THAT". You can make the letters ten feet tall; but that doesn't change the fact.

And, most importantly, you are ducking the reason WHY Obama said what he said: To justify jacking up taxes to take other people's money and give it to whom he thinks deserves it.

Obama's reasoning for giving this speech is immaterial.  Why?  Because Romney agrees with him.  It's a moot point.

You're the one who keeps bring up Rush, when nobody else is talking about him. And given your taste in news sources (and inherent inability to spell or fuse together a decent sentence), YOU'RE the last one who needs to be calling anyone else "idiots".

You can pretend that what I write does not exist; however, it won't help you look good or informed in this thread.

*Interestingly, Romney stated that he disagreed with Obama while agreeing with him 100%.  It was quite humorous among the informed people.

That should be "bringing". Now, perhaps you can explain why you keep using "your", when the correct word is "you're" in certain sentences.
