Romney said the 47% that support obama don't pay taxes.   This was incorrect.

47% don't pay taxes.
47% support Obama no matter what.

They're not the same group of people.  It's easy to rally the base by saying it it.  But it's not.  There's a LOT of students, military and elderly (as well as ppl who are just dirt poor) who don't pay taxes who DO vote republican.

http://thesunnews.typepad.com/a_different_world/2012/09/non-taxpayers-are-concentrated-in-red-states-40-percent-of-south-carolina-residents-dont-pay-federal.html

That's great and all but I think it has more to do with those states being in the southern U.S. than it does with them being "Red States." Remember, those states were Blue about 30 or so years ago.

All the racists switched to the Repub party after the Dems pushed through various civil rights laws
More importantly they NOW vote for the Republican candidate who has called them all victims and people who think they are entitled to a handout

This is nothing new.

We've known that the Republican leaning states tend to be the places who get more dollars from the govt than they pay in taxes

While he's at it, he can also explain why if only a third of low-income folks go GOP, how do you have all these welfare cases in red states?

How much are you planning on donating whork? Im betting absolutely nothing you hypocritic fuck!!!

"Feel your taxes are too low? House Republicans have devised a new convenient way for those worried about government red ink to donate more to the Treasury.

The legislation, approved in the House on Wednesday and heading for an uncertain fate in the Senate, creates a checkbox on tax forms allowing taxpayers to make donations above their normal tax liability for debt reduction."

Don't hold your breath, looking for Dems to pay Uncle Sam of their own free will. Besides, this isn't about libs, spending THEIR money; it's about them, spending OUR money.

What is a fair share?

I like the Romney 14% tax rate myself... I want some of that.

I bet most people probably pay about that to be honest... What with all of the deductions people can have.

the 14% isnt including his charitable donations either...

Im curious for the ppl ranting and raving about higher taxes what amount they believe is fair? both with and without charitable donations?

If someone is paying 2 million a year and taxes and there are still morons out there yelling for more while they pay NONE!!!!

Id say its not a tax problem but a spending problem!!!

No one is going to give you a set number.  Some feel that there should be a straight tax across the board.  Others feel that the people who make over $250,000 a year should pay a higher percentage of taxes than those that make $60,000 or less (or, more generally, make more - pay more in taxes).

The chances of changing anyone's mind in this thread regarding their tax beliefs, is slim to none.  One reason this tax issue is so hot is because over 99% of American's make *SIGNIFICANTLY* less income per year than Romney, yet they have to pay a higher percentage of their income in taxes than Romney - due to the loopholes for the rich.  Many Americans find this to be terribly unfair and therefore the Romney/Ryan tax plan IS a major economic issue in this election, whether it should be or not and Romney is not gaining popularity from it.

With regard to the charitable donations, it is hard to say negative things against charitable people.  However, it is Romney's choice to donate and it should have zero to do with the tax discussion (aside from deduction discussions), as his donations are going to his fellow magic panty wearing friends...not to the government.

Stop sucking Romneys cock you brain washed fag.
The man has millions in off-shore accounts and pays only 14% in taxes yet you feel the need to defend the man?
The rest of us including you pay a far higher % yet you need to defend him? You are a pathetic fuck. Go watch some FOX news retard

There area loopholes everywhere. That being said, Romney's % is what it is because most, if not all, of it was taken from capital gains which is 15% long term and 20% short term. He also gives away a lot of his income to charity which is another deduction.

What we are seeing in that 14% number is just his income. We don't see property taxes, we don't see, correct me if I'm wrong, is state, local taxes either.

So, until we have those numbers the actual comparisons aren't really valid. That said, he still pays more (14%) in Federal taxes and the average middle-income family does in Federal taxes.

Stop the comparisons until we have  apples to apples.

According to the statistic I posted, he pays less than the average American in taxes.  Moreover, if he paid a penny more than 14.1%, you better believe he would have been happy to show all the world...it would only help him in this election.

Welll duhhhhh - most of his income was already subjected to income taxes once.   The 14% is on top of income taxes!

Not that incompetent libs will ever grasp that but it is what it is.
