Ann Romney to Republican Party: You're lucky to have Mitt
« on: September 20, 2012, 08:56:11 PM »
She's right.  They're bailing on him with 6 1/2 weeks to go.  No doubt they're feeling pressure, but the GOP wanted them, they need to stick with them.

Ann Romney lashed out the Republican Party and told them that they were lucky to have her husband as their nominee.

In an interview with Radio Iowa, Ann Romney took a blowtorch and burned all the Romney bridges with GOP.

Mrs. Romney explained how “hard” campaigning was for her, “If you love someone, you see them maligned, attacked, all these things that happen in a campaign, you get very defensive.”.....

Ann Romney then launched into an attack on the Republican Party, “Stop it. This is hard. You want to try it? Get in the ring. This is hard and, you know, it’s an important thing that we’re doing right now and it’s an important election and it is time for all Americans to realize how significant this election is and how lucky we are to have someone with Mitt’s qualifications and experience and know-how to be able to have the opportunity to run this country.”

What are Mitt's qualifications pertaining to foreign relations?

The article calls it a full blown meltdown.  The audio is at the bottom of the article.  I listened to it and that's not even a meltdown.  I don't see anything wrong with what she said or the way she spoke against idiots like Kristol.

The only drawback I see in having her talk about this from a perspective of the campaign being really very hard, to the point she didn't want to ever do it again, is that people have the general idea that being president and first lady is harder than running for the office.  So people listening to this might feel like the Romneys aren't up to it even if they didn't come right out and think it directly.  Her tone is good but she should skip talking about how hard it is running even if it is.

It's all about experience.

For her - born a millionaire and living in a safe bubble her entire life - Hearing her man being attacked politically must seriously be a horrible experience.  Quite probably one of the worst experiences of her life.

It's just point of view.

yea, that's the impression people will get when she's talking about how hard it is.  Hell, there are plenty of blue collar jobs that are harder than running a campaign.  It's not too bad because she said this stuff and not Mitt; it is probably hard seeing your husband get attacked.  If Mitt had said this, it would be really bad.  Even so, she should avoid talking like this.  Not much benefit in it.  She was right to attack idiots in her own party though.
