meh. yes and no. the power of the human mind is extraordinary. what one believes can become ones reality.

Sure is, so why don't you use it to to build the body of someone who dosen't suck? And waiting until you're hungry? It's too late by then. Fucking idiots with your stupid posts. No wonder all the good posters left here. The majority of you are simply just a bunch of dumb fucks.

Keep doing what you feel like when you want and keep up the good track record of being failures.

5-6 small meals is much better than 3 large ones... no brainer.  It keeps anabolism and metabolism elevated.

Aspiring bodybuilders (and couch potatos) often make the mistake of eating too much during one sitting which results in lots of spill-over (fat).

Getting in an adequate amount of calories with 3 meals without feeling bloated isn't that easy.   Much easier to take in those same amount of calories spread out over 5-6 meals if possible.

I just had a meal. 3 slices of bread with butter. 200gram of unboild rice. 200gram 20% fat miced meat with beans, fried in oil. 1l milk. and some vegetables with salt lemon and oil. How much is that. Like 2000kcal?

I think most my meals are around 1500-2000kcal. 2 big, 1 smal. per day!

Blodsugar is just a trend. U have the food in the stomach, then the body use it the next 6 houers. Dont need small meal betwen. Just bullshit Smiley

For normal cats, yes. For bodybuilders, I'm afraid that won't do it. . . at least in almost all the cases I've ever seen.
this is true, I'm not a bodybuilder, Just another normal cat.  So much easier being normal.

Yes. The 6 times a day is a made up lie of the supplement companies to sell more protein.

protein shake not equal a meal.

I just eat when I'm Hungry - Isn't that what the sensation is for?

but your body is hungry when it's trained to eat. for example: many people skip breakfast--they're "just not hungry". i used to do this. i started eating breakfast and before long i started waking up hungry.

Don't judge too soon, judge them on their progress. At least they made the step to do something about it.

why, who told you what a meal is?

perhaps you should start by examining the word "supplement".

I wish we had some evidence on proper nutrient timin through out the day.  We have during and after workouts covered... I'm afraid that gets too "person to person" thing.

I think so...Exercise science journals, elite athlete protocols, etc.

the issue with bodybuilding, or more appropriatley muscle mass building is how can it be quantified?  Size has variables, nobody wants frequent biopsies, MRI are expensive and possibly harmful over time. Plus there is a whopping supplement industry funding smoke and mirrors instead of real science.

Plus bodybuilding is a questionable sport at best.

...to add, what would be the real point of finding out the best and fastest way to build muscle size? What good is having large muscles?

Strong muscles, or fast muscles, or new muscles where none existed before...yes, these are worthy scientific study areas.

But how best to build bigger muscles? Scientists already know enough on how exercise and some protein in the diet can be used to (unsuccessfully, I might add) address wasting diseases such as Duchenne's or sarcopenia or AIDS. For those with diseases, drugs are usually the answer, and dietary/exercise regimens do add some marginal value. It wouldn't be easy to get grant money from legitimate sources to continue more in-depth studies into these areas. Typically, the grant money comes from supplement companies, who, of course, often have an agenda. Double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomly assigned, and even cross-over designed studies can help. But then, we can say that about a lot of post-secondary graduate degree programs funded by corporate interests, and the influence they surely have over the purity of scientific study...the study of "muscle size" is not surely alone in this regard.

What possible real-world benefit is there for the average scientist to study how best for a modern, average, healthy populace to build muscle SIZE. It's purely cosmetic, and quite ridiculous when you think about it. I still like doing it, but I don't expect a new wing to open up at John Hopkins University to study the intricacies of sets and reps and different cooked chicken breast meat on building muscle size over the long term.

Great post.  That being said, the purely cosmetic part may be our saving grace.  Health and aging clinics and hrt are popping up all over. Weight loss and hair loss are already being exploited by the medical communities.  We can wait and hope... And not hold our breath.
