1st bench press set I counted 6. PD for PD I think Franco was the strongest! He hit over 500lbs at under 200lbs. at muscle beach he was benching 455 for about 4-5 reps. You never saw him squat much but I saw him do sets 630lbs pretty easily.

nah, o refered to the bench only.

the deadlifts, he kills me. i do deadlifts with 4 plates for reps and leave it at that.if it means anything, no straps, no belt.

 ;D

That bench is fucking good, especially  if you're 220  or under

4 plate deads without straps is impressive IMO, I personally have a shit grip

4 plate deads is weak.

5 plates .. you're not trying hard enough, you may be mentally weak or genetically cursed.

6 plates .. you're fulfilling the fact you're over 220

7 plates .. ok strength

8 plates ..  good strength

So a 765-pound pull at around 220 is merely "good strength"?

Never mind that VERY few elite powerlifters can come near such a feat.

Pure idiocy.

Haha, don't be ridiculous - even a 5-plate deadlift is impressive at any weight.

What was he on?  ;D Regardless, Franco was one strong man and not just for a bodybuilder.

Franco weighed about 180lbs during this time, which makes these lifts much more impressive.

Seeing these videos makes me realize how strength has evolved.  I'm apart of the young generation and I'm routinely seeing young men lift similar lbs. while younger and natural.

On the strength front, here are the raw records -

Rick Weil at #181 benched #556.

Larry Danaher at #198 benched #565.

Mike MacDonald at #220 did #582.

-----------------------

Deadlift is owned by Ed Coan in the above classes with lifts of #791, #859, #901.

Remember those are records, realistically, a 2x BW Bench and 2 3/4 - 3x deadlift are big numbers for strong regular folks.
