I was watching Real Sports with Bryan Gumble [sp?].  They profiled Magic Johnson and his recent joint acquisition of the LA Dodgers.  He was a kid from Michigan with a working class father and now is the 4th richest Black person in the world, or Americuh.  Estimates are that he is worth 700+ millions.

He opened a bunch of movie theaters, Starbucks, Dodgers and now has his own network channel.  Makes me feel a bit lazy but to be honest, i'd be happy right now if i had a secure job where i don't have to worry about paying bills, or spending a ton of money on food to support my bodybuilding hobby (BB related).

I'm not lazy by any means but if i made 100 million bucks i'd never do anything with the word W in it.

But hearing about his successes only makes me feel like i've done nothing.  I realize most of us aren't going to set the world on fire but how do you define success?  is it always a mistake to compare yourself to someone else?  Is it all about how much money we can make?

Is an amateur bodybuilder that reaches his potential and becomes a pro but never wins the Olympia as successful as Lee Haney?  How does Samir Bannout rank compared to a multiple Olympia winner?  Or is it all a big conspiracy to make us think that the aquisition of material wealth is the measure of success?

I just cracked one off, balanced my cum between index and thumb into the bathroom and flicked it right into the toilet - I call that a success

success is what you make of it. if you define it by the accumulation of material wealth, then success is the accumulation of material wealth. if you define it by living a happy and virtuous life, then its living a happy and virtuous life.

its not a word with moral implications.

You don't get it. He doesn't do these things because he has to work. He does this work because that's what he loves doing. That is what success is: doing what you love, and getting paid doing it.

Success is subjective and quite arbitrary.

For someone it may be laying down a house, getting a good job , marrying his high school sweet heart and creating a family.

For some that isn't enough, they want to experience what life has to offer... drugs, sex, traveling ect.

I think it depends on how you were raised.

In the end as long as you are happy you are successful in my opinion. Though to be happy in general you need to meet certain expectations that you and society set on your selves.
