Romney really is looking less and less like he is going to be able to win this election.

He can be statesmanlike & professional, ala Dole in 96, and take a gracious loss.  He's down 12 in Penn by Rassmussen.  This election, as things are going now, isnt close.

I think the time is not YET.... but if the debates come and go, we have some sensational headlines, and he's still down 5 points everywhere (and the $ starts drying up, most importantly), then yes, going rogue (loud, obnoxious, over the top) might help.

It might mean an upset, or it might mean he loses by 7 points.

personally, I don't think romney wants his legacy to be Palin II.  I think he'd prefer a dignified loss.

If Palin having to offer advice isn't the death knell of any campaign out there, then I don't know what is.

Oh wait... I do know.  It's Herman Cain claiming that he would be doing better than Mitt and have a big lead over Obama because "it's quite simple - I have some depth to my ideas"    :D  The only "depth" that Cain seems to have is in the art of telling fantastically improbable alternate-reality stories.

If Mitt wasn't get shit on enough already, these two dingbats are right there to try to make a name for themselves at his expense.  At this rate, I guess in a few days we will hear Rick Perry call Mitt "dumb".

Palin preferred a career in media to a career in politics.

She was not successful in politics.  She is fairly successful in media, she is one of the top 10 fox anchors.

That's honestly not a bad idea....she's no longer Governer, she can't run for President much less any office due to her clout.  May as well use it to her advantage for speaking engagements which is very lucrative.

many people were disappointed that she RESIGNED from her governor job to get the job as a talking head on fox news.

As governor and veep pick, she could have had a terrific future in shaping national policy.  She would have EASILY won Ted Stevens' Senate seat.  Right now, we'd have Senator Palin leading the new far-right tea party.

But she wanted a paycheck - which is great for her - but it appears her career in public service was nothing more than a stepping stone to, well, being a pundit.

She is incredibly vain and self absorbed, I'll give her that.

I mean, what career can a person of the above description find solace and satisfaction? Politics. What would satisfy said person even more? Being a TV star.

She didn't go to school/take that first job for 'politics'.  She went to be a news reader.  Reading basketball scores.  THAT was her dream.

In polititics, she didn't control things, she was angry a lot, and her lack of depth in many areas became obvious.

At FOX, she is protected and insulated.  They have her on just enough to keep ratings, she reads her scripts for the first 3 responses, then she always goes off script on the last one, cause that's the one where the sentences ramble and grammar sits down.

Notice they didn't let her do her thing at the convention.  She was the STAR of the last one and they couldn't give her a pundit's mic at this one.  Weird.

Sarah Palin is increasingly irrelevant.  Sad for a one-time heir apparent (princess?) of the republicans.

Senator Palin.'

She could have DECLINED a romney offer and been the CLEAR 2016 frontrunner to take the country back from obama.

are you insane? she is stupid, she should be no where near a job of this magnitude, I wouldn't let her be my receptionist let alone president. No one in there right mind would vote for her, she has no idea about anything, she cited proximity to russia as a foreign policy issue, she couldn't name a fucking news paper and made incoherant ramblings.

the fact that anyone takes her serious scares me.

Being a whore is a lot better than being a slut like Romney.
At least she's getting paid, ...whereas Romney is hopping into bed with anyone who will have him, ...and he's just getting fvcked!

I never said she was competent.  I'm saying in the 2010 tea party mood, she would have EASILY won the Senator seat in alaska and would have had it for life if she wanted.  She would have had the power to LEAD the senate with the new far-right attitude, perhaps stopping them from going so moderate on things like they do.

She wanted to be a media personality.  She went to college for that.  Politics was a road to get enough spotlight to get a good job in media.  That's it.  Which is fine.

LOL

Please show me ANYTHING that shows he is gaining ground, and not losing ground.

All we here are "secret inside polls" but we heard that in 2008 and they were completely wrong, and intrade and rass and 538 were correct.

I hope Romney wins, but at this point I think Repubs would be wise to focus on trying to steal the senate.  Obama up to 72.9% on Intrade, FAR more accurate than anyone else when it comes to prez elections

Aside from emotion, what ya hope... what is giving you hope for 2012 prez race?

Right... because mitt did such a good job destroying Perry and Cain and newt when these half-wit extremists were easily handling him?

I guess I'm seeing a disconnect here between what you WANT and what the numbers are saying, from rassmussen and everyone else, that romney's road to winning 270 electorals is getting thinner every day.  He is down 12 in Penn and now doown 6 to 8 in Ohio.  How in the WORLD does he win the election without either of these huge swing states?

Are you just using emotion instead of the state-by-state numbers here?

How can Mitt even "go rouge"

he's already been on every side of every issue

what exactly would going rogue look like if Mitt tried to do it
