10 dollar per month plus admin and annual fee. Upfront is still better deal. They must have cash flow issues maybe the gimmick is losing steam.

I don't get it. They are saying train here and you will look like you don't work out. What ever they are doing they are  really successful and their business is exploding.  Apparently it's what the people want.

they cater to the average person and try to make the point that they don't want "meat heads".

$10/month...if your goal is get in, crank out a work out and get out then it is great...for that price.

NYSC charges $85/month. If you don't care about classes and the extras that a full gym offers then I would opt for the $10 choice.

note that PF has limited free weight

I have been thrown out of two of them.   one in Yonkers, NY and the one in White Plains.

Said I was intimidating people by benching 315 for reps.

i just joined 2 months ago! laugh! it's cheap 10 bucks a month and very quiet and clean, so to me it's all good FOR NOW that is!...

eventually due to the lack of a few machines and lack of heavier weights (for instance, the heaviest dumbbell is 75 pounds, the heaviest barbell for biceps is 60!, the leg press can only hold 800 pounds at the most, etcetera) i'll need to leave pretty soon and for another place.

but yes, it totally caters to the 'average person" in fact, not trying to be mean, but the clientele looks like a episode of "the biggest loser" live! ...

i've been there mornings, afternoons and evening and i would say the average age is 40's at the youngest..

crazy though, in that they have bite size tootsie rolls in a bowl at the counter everyday!

one day of the month free pizza, another day of the month free bagels, and this is supposed to help? laugh

The fat women don't want to feel like they're being judged. I have news for them....I'm not judging them.  I don't even see them.  I'm focused on women who look like this....

not this....

I was also thrown out at White Plains for deadlifting. I wish those 2 spots would go back to golds.

The brothers who own them sold out a long time ago!

Even when they took over the Golds in Yonkers back in the day from Health and Fitness Depot they destroyed it.

Back in those days I remember Sean Alvarez and Renzo Gracie just starting out in the upstairs room.

Those were the good ole days and they are never coming back.

they do have some funny commercials.  i'd never train there, but i always watch the commercials to see if i recognize the commercial.

I saw one where they push two bodybuilders out the door.  I think one of the guys was the one directing traffic in another ad.

The average person looks at Gold's Gym and sees meatheads with a drug problem...for the most part, they are right.  The problem is the drug users, not the bodybuilding type.  Society laughs at these drugged up fools and places zero worth in what they do.  Maybe it's time for guys to man up and train for real.
The typical Gold's Gym goer can not do much in a gym on his own and relies on drugs.  People are tired of this bonehead motto and want a place they're not surrounded by delusional baboons.
