I think its the total opposite.  They were once liberal now they are shit brained and act as if they never were liberal and have destroyed the country because they now refuse to accept that they had it a lot easier than  children of today for many reasons.  They are under the delusion that "hard work" will solve it all, when in reality, that isn`t the case nor was it the case for them, yet they have deluded themselves into believing that they "worked hard".

Duh, they're the ones that have ruined the country, and have created kids (Gen X and Y) that have no guidance, are spoiled brats, lack of father figures, believe that they are special, and highlight mediocrity.

I see what you're saying, and I think you're right in some cases.  I think half of the republicans here like Beach Bum and Coach were Clinton voters that are now born-again morons.

It seems to me though that the majority are spoiled brats that think they're entitled to everything because they were spoiled by their parents that did have hard lives.

Most of the baby boomers are still liberal.  If it were not true, our culture (TV, movies, politics, economy etc.) would look a lot different.

These are the "hippies" that wanted to "fight the power", and now that they are in power, don't want to get out, nor own up to their mistakes. They did a lot of good, but due to their ineptness, they are washing away the good that they've.

I personally believe a parent should give everything their child wants.  If they do that, they have a MUCH better chance and a MUCH higher probability of being successful than the poor schmuck that has to languish at the bottom unnecessarily because their parents are greedy fucks, despite being their decision and no one else to have a child.  It is their obligation to give as much as they can.  This is why Jews outperform all other segments of the population despite being a small percentage as they set their children up to the best of their ability early on.  Mormons also do this, but to a much lesser degree as they are not as intelligent nor as wealthy.

This is probably unrelated to the generation differences, but it always amused me how my uncles and their friends would only briefly mention Vietnam if at all.  My grandfather and his best friend would talk about dodging bullets, and shooting at krauts like they would do it again right now if they could.

No, I absolutely agree with you there.  I think the problem comes with giving them everything without instilling in them why, and how the money to give them these privileges was earned.

Two of my grandparents were like this, and invested heavily in us.  The difference is that the baby boomers expect this, I realize what a rare blessing it is.

My grandparents generation worked, and worked, and worked and saved their own money.  Their goal was to pay their houses off, and save and invest their own money.  Somehow, their kids now believe these privileges in life (that their parents earned) are their and everyone's birth right in life.

Passing on wealth to the next generation doesn't really accomplish anything if you don't instill values, letting them know what a privilege and responsibility it is.

Because the Vietnam vets realized afterward that they were duped, and used (Emperors and fools, Kings and Pawns), and then came home and were not greeted with fanfare. Plus, what they saw. Also, WWII was some real shit, if we didn't win, well that was all folks. Vietnam was a war of attrition---just like our Revolutionary War---it was also helped the growth of what Smedley Butler called the Military Industrial Complex...all at the expense of American lives.

You'd keep quiet too if you knew that you and the dead men you served with were used as pawns, and you suffer illnesses from Agent Orange.
