Shit, Shawn Ray would do 150 pound dumbbell presses (I think 180s offseason) a few weeks before contest. And he questioned why big guys like Dillet, Fux, and Nasser all used 100 pound dumbbells.
Thats true,Shawn is a strong fucker,i trained with him a few times in 1990,what you don`t see in his training videos is the small amount of rest time in between sets.On the bench it was a max of 30 secs,he would do a set,then i`d do mine,then a increase in weight and back down for the next set.All done for 15 reps a set and by the time we got to incline d/bells i could only use 75lbs instead of the normal 130s.I was used to doing a set,resting 2 mins then do another,but with Shawn it was much faster tempo,and the pump in the muscle by the 2nd or 3rd execise just killed you.
